Teach them importance of money
Make your kid work hard to earn pocket money. For instance, ask them to help you mow the lawn on a Sunday morning or help clean the car/cupboard or better still help you in age-appropriate household chores. The satisfaction of doing a task and the hard work that goes into it will make them respect money. Buy them a piggy bank and encourage them to save money. Give them a target of saving an ‘x’ amount of money each month and reward them with an outing. Easy, isn’t it?
