It's been nearly 2 months that Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy has been missing. Amid that, the Today show host recently gave her first interview with Hoda Kotb after the missing case, in which she explained her first reaction after knowing about her mother's disappearance. For the unversed, part one of Savannah's emotional interview with Today was aired on March 26, 2026.
During the candid and emotional chat, Savannah Guthrie shared her first reaction after knowing about her mother, Nancy’s missing case. She explained that it was her sister, Annie called her and told her about Nancy. Savannah was quoted as saying:
"My sister called me and I said, Is everything okay?’ And she said, No, Mom’s missing. I said, What? What are you talking about? She said, She’s gone."

Further, Savannah Guthrie revealed that the entire family initially assumed that Nancy might have gotten sick and went to a local hospital to get her medicines. However, when they noticed traces of blood and how the camera had been ripped off, they realised that something was wrong. She shared:
"From the very early moments Annie and Tommy were saying, ‘This isn’t that case that you are used to where someone wanders off. She can’t wander off'. My mom, she was in tremendous pain. Her back was very bad... on a good day, she could walk down to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days not. So there was no 'wander off.' And the doors were propped open and there was blood on the front doorstep and the Ring camera had been ripped off, and so we were saying, ‘This is not okay. Something is very wrong here.'"

During the same interview, Savannah Guthrie explained that it was her brother, Camron, who first thought of kidnapping. She mentioned that since her brother spent his career in the military and working in intelligence, he could understand that Nancy was kidnapped for ransom. Savannah shared, "Even on the phone when I called him, he knew."

Further, during the candid conversation, Savannah revealed that she fears that the main reason behind Nancy’s kidnapping might be her fame due to the Today show. She explained that even though the reason makes sense, it is very difficult for her to believe that she, as a daughter, brought this danger to her mother’s bedside. In her words:

"I don’t know that it’s because she’s my mom and somebody thought, ‘Oh, that girl— that lady has money. We can … make a quick buck.’ I mean, that would make sense. But we don’t know. Which is too much to bear, to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it’s because of me."
The missing case of Savannah’s mother, Nancy is currently one of the most talked-about subjects in the world. For those who do not know, she went missing on January 31, 2026, and the next day a complaint was filed by the family.
