Zubeen Garg's demise left the entire country heartbroken. The singer's untimely death created shockwaves across his fanbase, leaving them with a million questions about what happened. The tragedy also left his wife, Garima Garg, in immense pain, and now, she has shared a note that Zubeen had written for his fan.
Weeks after Zubeen Garg's death, his wife, Garima Garg, has now shared a handwritten note written by the singer. The singer's last words have now gone viral, leaving fans emotional. The note was a part of the promotional campaign for the singer's upcoming project, Roi Roi Binale, which will now be his last release. In the note, Zubeen Garg wrote before leaving for Singapore:
"Wait, wait a little, my new film is coming. Do come and watch it. Love, Zubeen Da."

The film's director, Rajesh Bhuyan, opened up about the note in an interview with ETV Bharat. He shared that Zubeen Garg wanted to promote his film in a different way than he had with his previous films. The Roi Roi Binale director got emotional, recalling the singer and shared:
"On September 15, before his departure, Zubeen and I discussed the plans for Roi Roi Binale. He wanted to promote this film differently from his earlier projects like Mission China and Kanchanjangha."

Rajesh Bhuyan even told ANI that he and Zubeen Garg had been working on the project for the past three years. The film was released on October 31, 2025. The film is said to be a personal project of the singer. Rajesh had also previously revealed that the musical Assamese movie will feature "original voice" recordings of Zubeen. He was quoted as saying:
"We were working on this movie for the last three years. The story and music of the movie were by Zubeen Garg… This was the first musical Assamese movie… We had completed almost all the work on the movie, except for the background music…."

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19, 2025. The singer, who was allegedly drowned in the sea, was rescued by Singapore police and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors monitored his condition and provided intensive care. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the singer sadly succumbed to his injuries. The singer had travelled to Singapore to participate in the North East Festival, where he was scheduled to perform on the day of the incident.

Assam CID's Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating Zubeen Garg's death case. They have questioned several people related to the case, and have remanded five accused, including main event organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen Garg's Manager Siddharth Sharma, his cousin Sandipan Garg (suspended APS officer) and two PSOs, Nandeswar Bora. However, earlier in October 2025, Singapore police issued a statement stating that they hadn't found any foul play based on the preliminary investigation of Zubeen Garg's death. A part of the statement read:
"Upon completion of the SPF's investigations, which may take up to another 3 months, the findings will be submitted to the State Coroner in Singapore, who will then determine whether to hold a Coroner's Inquiry ("CI"). Its findings will be made public upon conclusion. Despite the fact that SPF is still in the midst of its investigations, on 1 October 2025, it extended a copy of the autopsy report of the late Mr Garg and SPF's preliminary findings to the High Commission of India upon their request."
