Sanjay Khan, an Indian actor and director who was once a popular face in the Bollywood industry, is now away from the glam world. It’s been approximately two decades since the actor signed a single film. The last film in which Sanjay appeared both as actor and director was Kala Dhanda Goray Log in 1986.
In 1990, he reappeared as a TV actor and director with India’s first historical mega serial, The Sword of Tipu Sultan. This was Sanjay’s last appearance as an actor. According to reports, despite being away from the film industry for 22 years, the veteran actor still has a massive net worth of approximately 417 crore.
Born on January 3, 1941, Sanjay Khan made his debut as a supporting cast member with the film, Dosti in 1964. In the same year, he bagged a major role in the film, Haqeeqat. He appeared in many hit films like Dus Lakh, Ek Phool Do Mali, Intaquam, Dhund, and more. Later, the actor shifted his focus to television with the historical soap opera, The Sword Tipu Sultan.
Besides, being an actor, Sanjay Khan also worked as a director in the films like Kala Dhanda Goray Log, Abdullah, Chandi Sona. Sanjay made his directorial debut with the film, Chandi Sona in 1997. He tried his hand at producing films as well.

He worked both as director and producer in the three films- Chandi Sona, Kala Dhanda Goray Log, and Abdullah. Not only films, the veteran actor also directed and produced many popular TV shows, including The Great Maratha, Jai Hanuman, and 1857 Kranti.
Hailing from a wealthy family, with father, Sadik Ali Khan, a businessman, Sanjay started his venture in business in the 80s. It was a side business of exporting rice to Middle Eastern countries. In 1997, Sanjay launched his dream project, the five-star deluxe resort, The Golden Palms Spa & Resorts in Bangalore, whose design work was done by his first wife, Zarin Katrak.
After launching his dream project, Sanjay invested in real estate through his firm, Esskay Properties. There was also a big-budget project plan for building the Seven Cities theme park in Agra, but due to some controversies, the Rs 10,000 crore budget plan didn’t happen.
In 2012, Sanjay sold the five-star delux resort to the Nimbus Group for Rs 120 crore. According to reports, the actor's net worth is around 417 crore. He owns a bungalow in Juhu. The actor also owns a farm in Bangalore, whose estimated area is 17 acres.
Sanjay Khan married Zarine Khan in 1966, when she was just 20. The couple has three daughters, Farah Khan Ali, Simone Arora, Sussane Khan, and a son, Zayed Khan. For the uninitiated, Sanjay had an affair with popular actress, Zeenat Aman when Zarine was expecting Zayed Khan.
Sanjay and Zeenat Aman met for the first time on the sets of the film, Abdullah, and soon love blossomed between the duo. Then, Sanjay and Zeenat had a hush-hush marriage in 1978, but their forever journey came to an end in 1979.
Hailing from a Muslim family, Sanjay is a Hanuman Bhakt. One accident in his life made Sanjay an ardent lover of Lord Hanuman, and that experience later inspired him to make a mythological TV show, Jai Hanuman. As per NDTV reports, Sanjay was once hospitalised for 13 months following a fire tragedy on the sets of The Sword of Tipu Sultan. During the same time, a priest from the Hanuman temple prayed for the actor's fast recovery, which made Sanjay an ardent follower of Lord Hanuman.
