When Zeenat Aman's Ex-Love, Deepak Parashar Revealed His Mom Didn't Approve Their Relation

Popular veteran actress, Zeenat Aman was one of the top heroines of her time. She had an immense fan following, and one of her die hard lovers was '90s actor, Deepak Parashar. He was known for his fine acting chops, crisp looks, personality and used to give a tough fight to Amitabh Bachchan. Deepak had also won Mr India back in 1976 but could not convince his mother about his relationship with Zeenat.

When Deepak Parashar shared why he could not marry Zeenat Aman

Zeenat, at 19, was the winner of the, Miss Asia Pacific pageant (1970). Since her childhood, cinema and dancing attracted her, and in 1971, she made her debut with Hare Ram Hare Krishna opposite Dev Anand. Deepak, on the other hand, made his Bollywood debut with, Insaaf Ka Tarazu opposite Zeenat, and created a hit. His film, Nikaah (1982), gave him immense success too and during this period, he and Zeenat were reportedly dating. His love for her knew no bounds, but his mom was against the relationship. Once in an interview with Times Network, Deepak shared:

“Zeenat Aman and I were friends and we shared our joys and sorrows together. We became closer by the day but my mother put a full stop to it. She said ‘You will not be successful if you marry her,’ so I was in two minds.”

When Deepak Parashar shared why he couldn't pursue Zeenat Aman?

Zeenat's top filmography work included Satyam Shivam Sundaram: Love Sublime, Don, Qurbani, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Laawaris, Dostana, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Dharam Veer and Hum Kisise Kum Naheen to name a few. Deepak was crazy for Zeenat, but there came a point when he did not pursue her further. Deepak had revealed:

"It was because she had too much going on and she needed to be left alone. We had some conversations regarding the same and she told me she wasn’t sure about it as she was fighting cases and felt destroyed (after her messy relationship with Sanjay Khan).”

For the unversed, Zeenat was an actress who made any man go weak on their knees. However, she was never lucky enough to be in love, as in 1978, she married Sanjay Khan. He was then married to Zarine Katrak. It was in 1979 that Zeenat and Sanjay's wedding was annulled as reportedly he used to slap her.

When Deepak Parashar shared how Zeenat Aman had a tough time with Mazhar Khan

A heartbroken Zeenat in 1985 married Mazhar Khan but they separated in 1998. Deepak had shared that Mazhar had initially pursued the actress, and he somehow caught her weaknesses and emotions. Deepak also remembered his last meeting with Zeenat as he said there was not a girl like her. They had met in 2014 at a fashion show and also confessed to the actress that he wanted her to be his bride. Deepak shared feelings about Zeenat and hailed her as the best mother, daughter and wife. In his words:

"Suddenly I got to know that they are married. But she had a tough time with him as well."
