Zarine Khan passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 81 due to heart attacks after suffering from age-related ailments. She was an interior designer and author with a brief acting career. Zarine was a beloved figure among the B-town fraternity. She was married to actor, Sanjay Khan and was the mother of Sussanne Khan (Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife), Farah Khan Ali, Simone Arora, and Main Hoon Na fame, Zayed Khan. After Zayed performed Zarine's last rites, Sussane and Farah paid poignant tributes to their mom.
Sussanne Khan shared a heartfelt and emotional note on social media following the funeral of her mother, Zarine Khan. In her Instagram post, Sussanne shared a video montage featuring cherished moments with her mother, beginning with a clip of an adult Sussanne sitting on Zarine's lap, hugging her and saying, "I am mummy's twin soul. Whatever I've learnt is from this amazing woman." She referred to Zarine as her 'Bestestttttt Friend', her God, and her lifeline. Sussanne expressed that her mother would always be their "Guiding Light" and praised her for teaching them to live with "Grace and Love".

Sussanne added that her mother took the entire family's hearts with her and that they love her "beyond Love, beyond Life". In a previous birthday tribute, Sussanne credited her mother with shaping her heart, mind, and grit, expressing gratitude for being her daughter. She expressed her wish to be at least half as amazing as her mother was. She hopes to meet Zarine again in the afterlife, and until then, Zarine could "teach the Angels in heaven how to love." "My Bestestttttt Friend, My God, My Life... Our Beautiful Mummy.. you are always going to be our Guiding Light... You taught us all to live it our own way... with the epitome of Grace and Love... May we all be even half as much light as amazing as you were.. n our lives will be happy.... We love you beyond Love, beyond Life.. and from now Untill we all meet again n laugh and dance together.. you teach the Angels in heaven how to love... they are so lucky to have you...P. S You took all our hearts with you..."

Sussanne's sister, Farah Khan Ali, also paid a poignant tribute to their late mother, Zarine. She posted a video of Zarine singing the popular Farida Khanum song, Aaj Jane Ki Zid Na Karo. Her daughter, Farah, wrote a heartfelt caption, calling Zarine her "soul mate" and "the woman who touched many lives". Recalling Zarine's legacy, Farah pledged to walk in her footsteps and tie the family together, just like Zarine did. As she missed her 'darling Mamma', Farah penned down the emotional note, which can be read as:
"To my mother, my soul mate, the woman who touched many lives with her love warmth and shine. You will be missed because no one can ever be like you. Your legacy will always continue to inspire many and I promise to walk in your footsteps and keep our family bonded together forever. Your friends will become my friends and i will love them and keep them close. Will miss you until we meet again peace my darling Mamma."
