Zareen Khan is one of the most underrated actors in showbiz. After making a popular debut, she has also appeared in Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu films. However, she looks similar to Bollywood actress and Salman Khan's former girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Her resemblance became a significant topic of discussion after Zareen's debut. Recently, the latter opened up about the impact of those comparisons on her career.
Zareen graced the latest episode on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast. She shared that after her debut in Veer, things became difficult for her. Although, the film was a life-changing moment for her, she received a lot of criticism after it. At first, Zareen was happy about being compared with Katrina because she finds her beautiful until the situation changed. She was quoted as saying:

"Life after Veer was very bad for me, I got a lot of criticism for it. The film was so big, it still is a life-changing moment for me. Initially, I felt very happy that I was being compared to Katrina Kaif! She is so beautiful!."

Zareen continued that the perception of people in Bollywood became hostile towards her. She was being called overweight and felt lost in Bollywood. The actress added that she didn't know many filmmakers, and they thought she was arrogant. In her words:
"For me, who used to be overweight, being compared to Katrina was huge, but it backfired badly. I was a lost child in the industry, and I didn't know most people here. I only knew the names of the producers and directors not by their faces… but they started to feel I was arrogant because Salman Khan launched me."
In the same conversation, Zareen shared that the criticism increased to the point where she was scared to leave her home. There was criticism about her weight, clothes, and many other things. Due to the negativity, Zareen thought about leaving the industry. She said:
"There was a time I was even scared to step out of my house because people would comment on my clothes. That comparison went in a very negative way. I was called overweight. What should I do? I was given so many names, that at one point, I wanted to just sit at home."
