Former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, is happily married to the love of his life, Hazel Keech, since December 7, 2016. The couple had a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony at the Fatehgarh Sahib Gurudwara and then got married as per Hindu customs on December 2, 2016, in Goa. However, do you know how Yuvraj's mom, Shabnam Singh, was introduced to her future bahu? She revealed interesting details of her first interaction with Hazel.
Yuvraj Singh and his mom, Shabnam, sat down for an interview with Curly Tales, where the former cricketer shared that he got scolded by his mom in the morning. He also shared that he likes his nani maa's kadhi chawal more than what his maa makes. When Shabnam was asked on her first meeting with Hazel, she said:
"Sach bolu ki mei jhoot bolu? Mera kuch function tha. I found this cute little girl trying to make him catch popcorn."
When Yuvraj had come on The Kapil Sharma Show with Hazel, he shared about how he met Hazel when he was at a party and had asked her out for coffee. She did not give any reply, but also did not want to hurt his ego, so she then switched off her call. According to the former cricketer, this took place around seven to eight times. After a while, when he was diagnosed with cancer, Hazel wished him good luck when he told her about his disease. However, after three years, he saw that his friend was friends with her on Facebook and warned him of her behaviour. In her words:
"Door reh. Uske baad, maine kaha yeh ladki badi ajeeb si hai toh maine inko delete kar diya. Maine bola, 'Isne mujhe teen saal tak ghaas nahi daali aur na hi mujhe mili hai. Pata nahi yeh ladki kya samajhti hai apne aap ko. Door reh, mereko shaadi isi ladki se hi karni hai. 3.5 saal ke baad inhone phir ek saal mujhe chane chabaye. Uske baad jaake inhone haan boli."
Yuvraj is a total mumma's boy and has unlimited respect and love for Shabnam. This is because she raised him and his brother, Zorawar single handedly and was happiest seeing her ladla son get married to the love of his life. Shabnam had openly accepted Hazel, and once in an interview with the Hindustan Times, she said:
"I feel happy and proud... I have brought up Yuvi single-handedly and he’s been such a loving and wonderful son. It was an incredibly special moment for me to see him getting married and to know that my responsibility is less today because Hazel is there to also take care of him. It’s a good feeling. I would like to be more at ease now. I am glad that Yuvi is in good hands with Hazel."
What do you think of Shabnam Singh's revelation on her experience of meeting Hazel Keech for the first time?
