YouTuber, Jyoti Malhotra's Father REACTS On Her Arrest For 'Spying': 'Used To Visit Pakistan For..'

Jyoti Malhotra, an influencer from Hisar, Haryana, was all over the Indian news channels for her alleged connection with a Pakistani espionage network. With nearly 4 lakh subscribers on her YouTube travel channel, 'Tavel with Jo', she has been arrested on the charges of sharing sensitive Indian military information with Pakistan. Her arrest comes weeks after the Pahalgam attack and amid rising tension between India and Pakistan. Now, her father reacted to the shocking news.

Jyoti Malhotra's father talked about his daughter being a Pakistani spy

The father of Jyoti Malhotra stated that his daughter only visited Pakistan to shoot videos for her YouTube channel. He also stated that the police had taken their bank documents, phone, and laptop. He even exclaimed that she had taken the necessary permissions to visit Pakistan. Not only this, Jyothi's father defended her and stated that she had friends there. In an interview with ANI, Haris Malhotra said:

"She used to visit Pakistan and other places to shoot videos for YouTube. If she has some friends there, can't she call them? I have no demands, but give us our phones. A case has been registered against us."

Jyoti's arrest came as a shock on May 17, 2025. For some money and promise of travelling the world, she sold off her pride and her nation. The YouTuber was arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information and being in constant touch with Pakistani citizens. 

DSP Kamaljeet of Hisar revealed that Jyoti Malhotra has been on remand for five days. She has been booked under the Official Secret Act and relevant sections of BNS. She has been accused of passing crucial information to the Pakistani side. It is also reported that she met a Pakistani military officer, Ahsan-ur-Rahim, in Delhi, and then she travelled to Pakistan. The DSP also revealed that 'suspicious things' were retrieved from her mobile and laptop, and said:

"Yesterday, based on inputs that we had, we arrested Jyoti, daughter of Haris Kumar, under the Official Secret Act and BNS 152. We have received some suspicious things after we recovered her mobile and laptop. We have taken her on a 5-day remand, and further investigation is on. She was in continuous contact with a Pakistani citizen."

Jyoti Malhotra was trying to influence the audience with Pakistani agenda

During the preliminary investigation, Jyoti revealed that she went to the Pakistan High Comission in Delhi in 2023 to apply for a visa and had met a man named Ahsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish. Soon, they exchanged numbers and started talking to Ahsan-ur-Rahmi, and they even met him twice in Pakistan. Not only this, but a man named Ahsan-ur-Rahim also arranged for her to stay and travel to Pakistan. He even arranged meetings with Pakistani security and intelligence agencies. 

It is also worth mentioning that Jyoti would frequently attend the Iftar party event at the Pakistan High Comission and shared posts on her Instagram handle. Not only this, she was also seen applauding Pakistan and even went on to call Lahore the 'culture heart of Pakistan' in her social media posts.
