According to Stars Unfolded, Yogeeta Bali Chakraborty’s father’s name was Syed Irshad Hussain, however, he changed it to Jaswant after joining the film industry as he migrated to India from Pakistan. Jaswant was already married and had two kids when he married Yogeeta's mother, Hardarshan Kaur, who also happens to be Geeta Bali's sister. Yogeeta's father eventually moved back to Pakistan to his first and children after suffering losses in the film industry.
In a throwback interview, Yogeeta Bali had spoken about how her first marriage with Kishore Kumar wasn’t a cakewalk for her and commenting on their relationship, she was quoted as saying, “I’ve had my problems. Though my first marriage with Kishore Kumar broke up, I was not disillusioned with love, for I never loved him. My marriage with him was never consummated and so it hasn’t put me off the institution of marriage either.” When probed, “But that’s because she says you would stay up all night and count money”, he had clarified, “Do you think I can do that? Do you think I’m mad? Well, it’s good we separated quickly.” (Also Read: When Nargis Said 'Meena Kumari Maut Mubarak Ho', Revealed She Was Beaten By Her Husband Kamal Amrohi)
There were reports that Mithun Chakraborty had fallen for Yogeeta Bali because she resembled his first wife, Helena Luke. When the Stardust Magazine had approached Yogeeta and asked her to comment on the same, she had said, “I hate her. People say Mithun fell for me only because I look like her. But I don’t think there is any similarity between us. Just because she fell in love with Mithun because she thought he resembled Javed Khan, does not mean that everyone feels the same way. Mithun does not even care for her. How can I look like her? I’m not so beautiful!” After Yogeeta had divorced Kishore Kumar, rumours were that she was in a live-in relationship with Mithun and they were waiting for his divorce. Yogeeta had commented on this, “It’s a lie. I’ve heard about it too and I would like to know who is responsible for such filth. I live here in my own flat with my brother and my mother. I will go to his house only after my marriage.”

Finally, when Yogeeta Bali and Mithun Chakraborty had tied the knot, she admitted that marriage is her priority and she would give up everything for it. Yogeeta had remarked, “I am a very homely person. I’d rather sit at home washing nappies and waiting for him to get back, than sit in studios waiting for the stars to turn up. I would give up everything for marriage. Mithun has to just tell me he wants me, and I’ll be there!” (Also Read: When Mohammed Rafi's Wife, Bilquis Rafi Revealed The Only Thing Their Children Disliked About Him)
