Women entrepreneurs are providing direct employment to 22 to 27 million people across the country, and the numbers are only rising, as per a report by Bain&Co. If the Indian government invests well in women entrepreneurs, then chances are likely that they can employ 150-170 million jobs by the year 2030. As per MSCI ESG's report, companies with women having leadership control are achieving a return of 10.1 per cent on equity compared to 7.4 per cent for firms still hesitating to give power to women entrepreneurs.

The power of women entrepreneurs was also seen on India's first business reality show, Shark Tank India. In each season, we saw a series of businesswomen impressing the Sharks with their business ideas and also getting a lot of love on the internet from netizens. Most of the women entrepreneurs proved that entrepreneurship is no longer a man's game and encouraged young girls across the world to follow their dream of becoming entrepreneurs.

However, it's fair to say that some female entrepreneurs on Shark Tank India left a lasting impact on the audiences. #1. Menstrupedia's Founder, Aditi Gupta

In the first season of Shark Tank India, Aditi Gupta was among the entrepreneurs, who not only got a deal on the show but also impressed the Sharks with her business idea. For the unversed, Menstrupedia is India's first comic book about periods. The company also creates content around menstrual health and has educated more than 15 million girls across India about it.

However, not just girls, Menstrupedia also deals with the five stages of puberty in boys. Aditi founded Menstrupedia back in 2012 along with her husband, Tuhin Paul. As of now, Menstrupedia is available to over 1100 schools, several NGOs, and government offices. Aditi's idea to make Indian children more aware of their menstrual health and puberty was appreciated by Namita Thapar, and the latter invested Rs. 50 lakhs in exchange for 20 per cent equity.

#2. Auli Lifestyle's Founder, Aishwarya Biswas

Auli Lifestyle is emerging as one of the biggest names in the Ayurvedic skincare industry. It was founded by Aishwarya Biswas back in June 2017 after she quit her high-paying job. It started with just ten customers, but as of now, it has over 50,000 customers worldwide. Auli Lifestyle is driven by Aishwarya's passion to provide high-quality organic products for skin, hair, and overall wellness. It was Namita Thapar, who connected with the Kolkata-based entrepreneur and finalised a deal of Rs. 75 lakhs in exchange for 15% equity in her company.

#3. Nuutjob’s Co-founders, Ananya Maloo and Anushree Maloo

Nuutjob was founded in 2021 by Maloo sisters, Ananya Maloo and Anushree Maloo. The duo aims to educate men about the importance of intimate hygiene through their unique products. Ananya and Anushree's pitch is still regarded as one of the best pitches in Shark Tank India's history. Coming to their products, Nuutjob offers a wide range of impressive creams, perfumes, hair removal foam, hygiene wash, and much more. Courtesy of their unique idea and courage to build a business on male hygiene, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, and Aman Gupta invested a total sum of Rs. 25 lakh in exchange for 20 per cent equity.

#4. Carragreen's Co-founders, Surabhi Shah and Chetna Shah

Carragreen was another brand that broke the age-old streotypes as it was founded by a duo of saas-bahu, Chetna Shah and Surabhi Shah. The company was founded back in 2018 with the noble cause of eliminating plastic pollution by providing green alternatives in day-to-day products. Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal liked Carragreen's business module and invested Rs. 50 lakhs for an equity of 20 per cent.

#5. Heart Up My Sleeves' Founder, Riya Khattar

Heart Up My Sleeves has to be on this list when we are talking about unique pitches and products by women entrepreneurs. Riya Khattar is the founder of this sustainable and minimalist fashion brand that aims to take transformable clothing to the next level in India. It was founded back in 2020, and due to its unique products and the possibility of scaling, Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal invested Rs. 25 lakh for a 30 per cent stake in the company.

#6. The Quirky Naari's Founder, Malvica Saxena

Malvica Saxena founded her company, The Quirky Naari, back in 2018 after she understood the demand for aesthetic and unique patterns or vibrant designs in footwear. From hand-painted shoes to light-me-up sneakers, The Quirky Naari fulfils youngsters' demand for 'something new and trendy'. Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal finalised a deal with Malvica of Rs. 35 lakhs in exchange for a 15 per cent stake in the latter's company.

#7. Kavach's Founder, Anoushka Jolly

At the mere age of 13, Anoushka Jolly invented an app by the name Kavach, which is an anti-bullying application that can prevent children from bullying. Unfortunately, the idea came to Anoushka's mind after some students bullied her. Luckily, she reacted to it in the best way possible by creating a smartphone app that can save others from bullying and harassment. While she received funding of Rs. 5 lakhs from Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta, she even received a Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from India's President, Draupadi Murmu.

#8. BluePine Foods' Founder, Aditi Bhutia Madan

BluePine Foods started back in 2016 with just Rs. 5 lakh but now it is now worth Rs. 3.86 crore. The brand offers a wide range of frozen food items that are both tasty and healthy. It was founded by Aditi Bhutia Madan, who was among the top 6 contestants in Amul Master Chef and is renowned by the name, 'Momo Mami'. Due to the impressive quality of her food items and the company's vision, Ashneer Grover, Vinita Singh, and Aman Gupta came together, and they invested Rs. 75 lakhs in exchange for the company's 18 per cent ownership.
