Why You Should Wait To Get Married

For many women, their wedding day is the most important day of their lives. They fantasize about their wedding day, dreaming about everything from the dress to the venue to the décor to the food. In fact, some brides to be get so caught up in the hysteria of planning a wedding that they forget about the most important part – the marital relationship.

At the end of the day, the saat pheras symbolize your (supposed) desire to spend your next seven lifetimes with your husband. If you think that marriage is the best way to “prove” your love to the world, then you need to reconsider. The newspapers are full of promising love stories that end in heartbreak and disaster. Once the shine is off, in a manner of speaking, you may find yourself disagreeing with your fiancé or boyfriend on a number of important issues. Or you may simply find that you both want different things from life. Sweeping your problems under the carpet while you plan a wedding does not mean that they won’t exist afterwards. If you followed the media coverage of the wedding of GVK Reddy’s 20 year old granddaughter Mallika to the scion of a Hyderabad infrastructure family, then you could be forgiven for thinking that the wedding was taking place in 1980. In fact, most of the media outlets referred to the bride solely as “GVK’s granddaughter”, as if that was the sum of her identity. If you want to go in for such a marriage, then be prepared for a lot of “adjustment”! In fact, you may have to “adjust” so much that you might as well end up getting a lobotomy!
