She highlighted that they had decided to end their marriage amicably and would continue to focus on their son. According to Page Six, Amy Schumer, 44, and Chris Fischer, 45, have continued to live largely under the same roof for the sake of their 6-year-old son, Gene. An insider told the outlet that Amy wants Chris to be "super involved" in raising their son together by becoming a part of their little one's daily lives. She believes that co-parenting works best when the parents are closely present for a child. In the source's words:
"She expects that they'll co-parent full-time together and that he'll see Gene almost as much as he does now, if not more. They are still largely under the same roof, for the kid's sake."

Although Amy Schumer has recently sold their Brooklyn Heights townhouse for USD 11 million, they may continue to share the living arrangement in a new space after relocation. Another source explained that it also has has to do with Amy's demanding career, because if she is touring or focusing on extra work commitments, , she expects Chris to remain there for their son. However, the source clarified that the duo's marriage has ended, and Amy has no interest in giving another chance to the marriage.

Amy Schumer did not highlight any specific reason for her divorce from Chris. She even clarified that her recent weight loss had nothing to do with it. However, sources close to the couple suggested that the growing emotional distance and lifestyle changes were causing them to drift apart. Some of their friends tell Page Six that Amy has recently begun to refocus on her career but realised that she cannot manage her marriage and refocus on work all at once. The shift has reportedly put a strain on their marriage.

Amy has also been open about the challenges in her marriage with Chris. It first began when Chris was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder shortly after they married. Especially in her 2019 Netflix special, Growing, she explained how their differences shaped their dynamic. She later told The Hollywood Reporter that she wanted to portray her marriage respectfully through her Hulu series, Life & Beth, which mirrored aspects of her real-life marriage. Although the split is being termed as amicable, insiders reveal that the couple had been living separate lives long before they confirmed their split.
