The incident left everyone shocked, making sure again that life is unpredictable. For the unversed, Sunjay was the CEO of Sona Comstar and now reports revealed who would possibly take forward his business empire after his demise.
Sunjay Kapur's leadership in Sona Compstar made it stand out as the biggest supplier of electric vehicle components with a presence in countries like India, the U.S. and China. However, it was June 12, 2025, when Sunjay passed away while playing a polo match, and it was first confirmed by Sona Comstar. As of 2024, the company was valued at USD 4.7 billion, which is approximately Rs. 39,000 crore. Now, questions were rife about who would be the leader of the company after Sunjay's untimely demise.
As per a report in BollywoodLife, Sunjay Kapur's sisters most likely will lead the business after he passed away from swallowing a bee, which led him to have a heart attack. Sunjay's two sisters are well-established in their respective careers. While Superna Kapur Motwane is an editor of a magazine, Mandira Kapur Koirala is the founder of Sona Mandira Pvt Ltd (SMPL), which specialises in auto components. Mandira and Sunjay once had a legal dispute over the use of the brand name 'Sona', which was founded by their late father, Dr. Surinder Kapur.
Sunjay Kapur had been married thrice, and among others, his marriage with Karisma Kapoor grabbed all the attention. The couple got married in 2003, and in 2016 they were granted divorce. Apart from that, his home in Khar is also in the names of Samaira and Kiaan.
