Who Was Stefanie Pieper, The Austrian Influencer Found Dead After Her Ex-Boyfriend's Confession?

Austrian beauty influencer Stefanie Pieper, who was reported missing on November 23, 2025, has now been confirmed dead after her body was discovered in a suitcase hidden in a Slovenian forest. With her disappearance turned into one of the most disturbing cross-border investigations in Austria in years, the internet is reeling at the 31-year-old’s brutal end. And in the centre of scrutiny now is Stefanie’s ex-boyfriend, Peter M.

As per recent developments, Peter M. and two of his relatives have been detained for alleged murder and suspected cover-up, respectively. Here’s a brief account of what happened as we introduce you to the woman who was Stefanie Pieper.

Stefanie Pieper was found dead in Slovenia, days after she vanished after a Christmas party

The Austrian creator was last seen on November 23, 2025, after returning to her apartment in Graz following a Christmas party. After sharing a taxi home, she messaged a friend to let her know she had arrived safely. Moments later, while getting ready to take her Golden Retriever, Marlow, for a walk, she sent a second, unsettling WhatsApp message. In it, she warned that “there’s a creep in the stairwell” and mentioned seeing a “dark figure”, suggesting that someone was lurking near her building. 

That was the last contact anyone received from her. Concerns arose when Pieper missed her modelling photo shoot the next day, and by November 26, 2025, police officially confirmed her as missing. After five days of investigation, on November 29, 2025 (ET), her body was found in a suitcase in a remote forest near Majsperk, Slovenia, after her ex-boyfriend allegedly confessed to strangling her and led investigators to her body. 

The alleged ex-boyfriend, who identified as a 31-year-old nightclub security guard, Peter M., was arrested in Slovenia on November 24, 2025, after police found his red Volkswagen Golf burning near the border. While he reportedly failed to give any credible information at that time, TMZ reported that he has since confessed to killing Stefanie, describing how he strangled her during a heated argument, placed her body in a suitcase, and drove it across the border to hide it.

The confession stunned the young influencer’s followers, especially given the pair’s long, turbulent on-and-off relationship. Two of Peter M.’s relatives, including his brother and stepfather, were also arrested for allegedly helping in the cover-up.

Who was Stefanie Pieper?

While Stefanie is making headlines for her harrowing end, she was much more than the mystery and horror that shrouded her final hours. The Austrian influencer was a talented makrip artist, a dog lover at heart, and a woman who preferred a close-knit circle that knew and understood her beyond the curated world of social media. 

At 31, Stefanie Pieper was a popular name in the Austrian influencer community with a steady following on her social media. Hailing from Graz’s Geidorf district, the creator mostly shared makeup looks, product recommendations, and pieces of her everyday life. But beyond her social media presence, she was deeply loved and cherished by her close-knit group of friends, family, and her beloved furbaby, a Golden Retriever named Marlow.

According to her Facebook page, Stefanie studied law at Universität Graz and had training at WIFI Österreich. She had been working as a makeup artist since 2016 and later became a brand ambassador for cosmetics label IQ Beauty Of Course. She was a budding musician who performed under the banner of Stefanie Pieper Music.

The influencer’s case has sparked widespread discussion in Austria and Slovenia as the investigation continues. According to reports, the search teams deployed drones, dogs, and border surveillance records before finally locating the suitcase containing Stefanie’s body near Majsperk, Slovenia. Pieper’s mother, Csilla Legenstein, had publicly pleaded for information during the search. And now, with Peter’s confession and the body discovered, the 31-year-old’s heinous end has intensified national conversations in Austria about intimate-partner violence.
