The female victim was later identified as Maria De La Rosa, who was found gravely wounded and was rushed to a local hospital, but she couldn't be saved. The 22-year-old reportedly died shortly after. Meanwhile, the two male passengers who were inside the vehicle were also critically wounded and remain hospitalised in intensive care. As no arrest has been announced yet, for now, the motive behind the attack remains unknown.
Maria De La Rosa was a rising singer who was just beginning to carve out her own unique identity in the Latin music scene. The 22-year-old performed under the stage name DELAROSA and had already released some tracks of her own, including her latest single, No Me Llames (Don’t Call Me), which was released in August 2025.
Maria’s final Instagram post, published on October 30, 2025, teased her upcoming project. The post, which has now become a place for fans to leave their heartfelt tributes, showed Maria in the middle of a recording in a music studio. The caption can be read as:
“Ocupando cocinando en el Stu... Ya es tiempo [Translation: Busy cooking in the studio... It's about that time."

Ever since the news of her tragic demise made rounds, the post has become a shrine for the 22-year-old’s friends, followers, and fans. A woman named Dayanira De La Rosa, who is believed to be Maria’s mother, posted a series of heartfelt messages from the late singer’s friends, one of which, made by Devin Christiansen, described her as an ‘angel’ who saw his potential when they met ‘9-10 years ago’ and helped him start his career. The message reads:
“I couldn't be thankful enough to have met her at a time when I was at my lowest. Fast forward years later, and just 2 days ago on my IG, I saw there had been an unfortunate shooting, killing a young 22-year-old woman, and it was not too far from me. I didn't put 2 and 2 together. Come to find out by one of my partners that it was Deyanira's daughter, Maria… I am truly sorry for your loss. God has received an angel.”
The search for the perpetrators is still underway, so the LAPD has limited information about the suspects or their motive behind the attack. However, witness accounts confirmed that it was not a one-man job and involved two male suspects. While the authorities have not ruled out the possibility of gang involvement in the crime, they have urged witnesses to contact LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide detectives if they have any information. They can contact Detective Simonyan or Detective Lopez at 818-374-9550. For after-hours or weekend support, witnesses can reach out at 310-726-7700 or 1-877-527-3247.
At just 22, Maria De La Rosa’s life was cut tragically short at the brink of her seemingly bright career. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and relatives.
