Sudha Chandran is an acclaimed Bharatnatyam dancer. On top of this, she is also a well-known actress who has worked across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Marathi language films and television shows. She rose to widespread fame when she played the role of 'Ramola Sikand' in the 2001 thriller, Kaahin Kissii Roz, which aired for four consecutive years. She was last seen on the silver screen in Ekta Kapoor's popular fantasy drama, Naagin 6, in 2022.

Her video has sparked widespread discussion among fans and viewers, with several users suggesting that her condition is a result of being spiritually possessed during the devotional moment. Sudha Chandran was born on September 27, 1965, in Mumbai. She grew up in a Tamil family that valued both culture and education. This pushed Sudha to pursue a Bachelor's and subsequently a Master's degree in Economics from Mithabai College in Mumbai. Following her graduation, her parents, who knew that Sudha was always drawn to the rhythm and grace of Bharatnatyam from a very young age, supported her passion, and soon she became a promising young dancer. Sudha went on to bag several accolades while performing on prestigious stages. It was clear as day that her talent and dedication towards her craft promised a bright future in the world of dance. To mention, Sudha Chandran's father, K.D. Chandran was a former actor.

At the mere age of 16, Sudha Chandran's life took a devastating turn. It was in the year 1981, while she was returning from a pilgrimage trip from Tamil Nadu, that she suddenly met with a road accident. Not only was her leg severely injured because of this, but she also had to make the hard decision to amputate her leg following medical complications. As one might expect, losing a leg for a dancer is the worst thing that could happen because it could potentially end their career. At the time, it was a moment of profound heartbreak and despair for Sudha. All the hopes that she had of continuing in the path of a dancer seemed shattered.

However, Sudha Chandran, even at her young age, was not someone who could give up on her dreams so easily. Turning her tragedy into triumph, Sudha underwent intense physical therapy, which gave everyone a glimpse of her indomitable spirit. Thankfully, throughout her tough times and journey to recovery, Sudha had the unwavering support of her family. Eventually, Sudha was fitted with a prosthetic leg, also known as the Jaipur Foot, enabling her to walk again.

While most people would be satisfied with just being able to walk after an accident of that scale and losing one leg, it was not enough for Sudha, as she wanted to return to the world of dance. Slowly but surely, after putting in immense work like relearning all the basic movements and bearing it through the pain, Sudha could finally dance again. She made her comeback at a Bharatnatyam recital. In addition to her dance, her resilience and courage also received a lot of praise and a standing ovation from the audience.

Sudha Chandran made her debut as an actress in 1985 with the Tamil dance movie, Mayuri. Her performance as ‘Mayuri’ in the movie also won her the National Film Award (Special Jury Award), underscoring how much of a hit it was with both fans and critics alike. Following her debut, she became a household name, having worked in several industries. Some of her most notable works include Solvathellam Unmai, No.1 Kodalu, Doree, Nachee Mayuri, Phoolan Hasina Ramkali, Vasantha Raagam, and Kalasam, among others.
After the fame and success she achieved from working on the big screen, Sudha Chandran soon shifted her focus to doing more television shows. Her most well-known shows include Dil Se Di Dua…Saubhagyavati Bhava?, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Babhi Bahu Thi, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Naagin, and Mata Ki Chowki - Kalyug Mein Bhakti Ki Shakti, to name a few.

In the video in question, Sudha Chandran can be seen wearing a red and white saree. On her forehead, Sudha also sported a headband with the words “Jai Mata Di” written across it. With the bhajans continuing in the background, in the video, Sudha appears emotionally overwhelmed. This also led her to momentarily lose control of her movements, prompting at least three people to hold and support her so that she did not injure herself. Sudha Chandran's video sparked intense debate online, with viewers questioning whether it is real or fake.
