Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., best known as Snoop Dogg, is one of the most popular American rappers and is also regarded as one of the most influential rappers of all time. Behind his huge success stands his wife, Shante Broadus, who is not just his life partner but also his professional adviser.

Apart from being a lovely wife, Shante, Snoop Dogg’s wife, is also his manager. She’s been helping guide his career since they were high school sweethearts. Even before he came out as a musician, Shante was there for him as a fan and as one of his biggest cheerleaders. She even helped him with deals and offers in the early stages of his career and has always been his go-to person.

In 2021, Snoop officially made Shante his manager. In his official statement, Snoop revealed Shante’s role in expanding his various business ventures and overseeing his partnership deals across gaming, music, brand partnerships, touring, licensing, and TV/film space. In a press release, he said:

“Shante has been guiding my career behind the scenes from day one. She has always been my final gut check with all my decisions, and I wouldn't be where I am today without her. I am grateful to have her as my official manager, helping to build the Snoop Dogg empire together."

In 2003, Snoop Dogg’s wife, Shante Broadus, founded a music management company named Boss Lady Entertainment. The venture produced movies and television series, including Snoop's 2012 documentary, Reincarnated.

When Snoop and Shante’s daughter, Cori, was diagnosed with lupus, she started losing her hair. To make her comfortable with the situation, Shante would put a scarf on Cori’s head. Her goal was to create a sense of positivity for Cori. Not just this, the whole family wore scarves to make Cori feel less alone. As a result, Shante launched a scarf brand and created the Broadus Collection scarf line.

Apart from her businesses, Shante has made several guest appearances on reality shows, which include E! True Hollywood Story, HGTV's Celebrity IOU, and Celebrity Family Feud. She also featured in the 2007 E! series Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood and the 2012 documentary Reincarnated.

Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus’ love story goes way back to the time when they were students at Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California. They even attended prom together in 1989. Shante took her own sweet time responding to Snoop, making him prove his commitment to her. He once talked about the same to VladTV and said:

“I had to go over there and meet her mother. I had to go over there and date her for, like, four months before I was able to kiss her. I had to call her on the phone. I had to write love letters. I had to do all of that kind of [s–t], you know what I’m saying, to win her over.”

After dating for many years, Snoop and Shante tied the knot in 1997, while he was rising as a rapper. The couple welcomed their first child, son Corde, in 1994. They embraced parenthood for the second time in 1997, after the birth of their second son, Cordell, and again in 1999 with the birth of their daughter, Cori.

Snoop Dogg had a relationship with Laurie Holmond while he was in a serious relationship with Shante. The affair resulted in the birth of their son, Julian Broadus, born in 1998. Though their relationship ended, she stayed connected to Snoop through their child.

In 2004, after Snoop achieved a lot of fame, he filed for a divorce from Shante, as he later revealed that fame got to his head. The couple never went through with the divorce and soon reconciled. Speaking to People in 2007 about his brief split from Shante, Snoop shared:

“I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that, until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable. I had kids with my wife because I wanted to be with my wife. And those three babies are all wanted, and I wanted to be with them.”
