While speaking to Script magazine, Jimmy Warden said that although he started his career as a production assistant, he realised that it was something he did not want to do. He revealed that he joined a talent agency and made a few friends, following which he joined a director as his assistant for five years. Jimmy said that he was also writing in the same period. Addressing his writing career, Jimmy stated that he initially prepared a script of a short film, followed by a pilot episode, and it eventually went up to a feature-length movie. Apart from Cocaine Bear, Jimmy is known for his work on The Babysitter and Borderline.

Samara Weaving and Jimmy Warden’s first meeting dates back to 2015, when they were working on The Babysitter, where Samara was seen as 'Bee.' The duo created headlines in 2016 when Jimmy posted some snaps from the set of the movie on social media. The pair soon started hanging out together in the same year. Jimmy made the relationship official in 2017 and shared a photo where Samara was spotted kissing him.

Back in 2019, Samara Weaving appeared for an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, where she was speaking about her friendship with actress, Margot Robbie. Samara said during the conversation that Jimmy Warden and Margot’s husband, Tim Ackerley, were close to each other. Notably, Samara referred to Jimmy as “fiancé” and later opened up on how Warden proposed to her. Samara said that she and Jimmy went on a trip to Paris in 2018. Samara said that she went to visit a friend one day, and when she returned, she witnessed the entire room designed with flowers and Jimmy on his knee as he popped the question.

Although Samara didn't share extensive details, the revelation was made when she said that she and Jimmy were collaborating once again on another film. During the conversation, Samara addressed Jimmy as “husband,” saying that Warden will serve as a writer and director of the film. The movie was later revealed as Borderline, which was released in March 2025, and featured Samara playing the role of 'Sofia Minor.' In December 2025, Samara announced on Instagram that she and Jimmy are expecting a child.
