According to department sources, Daniela was introduced to Ryan through contacts in Mexico and later became closely associated with him while he lived there.

Several federal reports alleged that Daniela had accepted "hundreds of thousands of dollars" knowing the funds were tied to unlawful operations. Authorities also claimed she lived a lavish lifestyle during this period and, at times, helped him gather information about rivals. However, it is important to note that she was not criminally charged. Instead, she was placed on the US sanctions list, which freezes her assets in the US and prevents US citizens or businesses from dealing with her financially. Officials believed she was in Mexico when the sanctions were levied, and now she has gained limelight amid his arrest.

When the OFAC released its sanctions list in November 2025, Daniela's name was placed among others accused of playing roles in Ryan's alleged network. The authorities have described her as someone who knowingly managed large sums of money connected to his activities. Meanwhile, the official records suggest that Ryan is still married to Andrea Castillo Moreno, 37 with Iranian roots.
