Meet Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Husband, Raj Nidimoru, Popular Filmmaker, Was Married To Shhyamali De

On December 1, 2025, filmmaker, Raj Nidimoru and blockbuster actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi Temple at the Isha Yoga Centre. Even though, rumours around their wedding started making rounds on the internet from November 30, 2025, the next day, when Samantha shared some intimate photos, fans went all gaga. 

Ever since Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared photos from their wedding, a lot of fans got curious about Raj's personal life. Well, for those who don't know, Raj was once married to filmmaker and writer, Shhyamali De. Amid all the happiness he is surrounded with, read on to know more about Raj Nidimoru. 

Who is Raj Nidimoru?

Raj Nidimoru was born on August 4, 1975, in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Reportedly, Raj Nidimoru was born in a Telugu family. He studied engineering at SVU College of Engineering and after that, he went to the United States to work as a software engineer. However, he soon discovered his passion for filmmaking and shifted towards the same. Reportedly, during his college years, Raj met Krishna D.K., with whom he later paired up for filmmaking.

Raj Nidimoru’s career

After meeting DK during college, he and Raj began their filmmaking career. In 2002, they started their career with the short film, Shaadi.com. A year later, the duo made Flavors, which was a gentle yet comedy film about Indians in the U.S. These early projects gave them confidence to make Hindi films. 

Later, in 2009, Raj and DK made their Hindi debut with 99. Over the years, they established themselves as a promising filmmaking duo and made the film, Shor in the City. In 2013, they directed Go Goa Gone, starring Kunal Kemmu and Saif Ali Khan. However, despite struggLinga in the beginning, their breakthrough came in 2018, with Shraddha Kapoor's film, Stree. Raj and DK had written the film. 

Raj and DK created the popular thriller show, The Family Man

After gaining success with long-form films, Raj and DK soon shifted into creating web series. The duo made major headlines when they created the thriller show, The Family Man, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani. The show became an instant hit. This encouraged Raj and DK to continue making projects like this and the duo later returned with hit series' such as Farzi, Guns & Gulaabs and Citadel: Honey Bunny. Reportedly, some of their upcoming projects include Gulkanda Tales and Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom.

Raj Nidimoru’s first marriage with Shhyamali De

Before finding love in Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj was once in a relationship with Shhyamali De. While there is not much information available about the ex-couple on the internet, a report by Filmibeat mentioned that the two tied the knot in 2015, in a traditional wedding ceremony.

While multiple reports suggest that the two had a daughter, it isn’t true. The ex-couple did not have any children. After seven years of marriage, the two parted ways. Even though, the two got divorced, they shared a good bond and Raj even spoke about Shhyamali’s role in keeping him grounded. Raj Nidimoru has once shared:

"Shhyamali De, my wife, constantly advises me about casting. She comes from a non-filmy background, so she always keeps us grounded."

Raj Nidimoru’s marriage with Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Raj and Samantha first met as co-stars on the set of The Family Man 2. Later, they also collaborated on Citadel: Honey Bunny. After Samantha's divorce with actor, Naga Chaitanya, the actress and Raj soon started bonding as friends and later it blossomed into love. Even though, Samantha and Raj never confirmed their relationship and always kept it private, they were often snapped at public outings and events. Occasionally, they even shared photos on their Instagram handles. 

After dating for a few years, Raj and Samantha tied the knot on December 1, 2025, at the Linga Bhairavi Temple at the Isha Yoga Centre. For the big day, Samantha wore a traditional red silk saree, with minimal but statement jewellery. She completed her look with soft hair, subtle makeup and beautiful mehendi with Raj's name. On the other hand, Raj chose a simple and traditional white kurta-pyjama. Reportedly, the wedding was attended by 30 people, including only close friends and family.
