"It was not a peaceful marriage with Rahul. We started living in very young and got married quite young too. It was a hasty and an immature decision. And for this, my relationship with my parents got strained and it took me years and a lot of effort to fix it. Now, my parents are fine with me and I feel sorry that I had hurt them so much."
After nearly seven years of marriage, the duo filed for a divorce in 2017. Speaking about her decision to part ways, Priyanka, in the same interview, revealed that she went into depression. In fact, her depression also had a bad impact on their son, Sohoj. For the uninitiated, Priyanka and Rahul welcomed their first child, son, Sohoj, on December 9, 2013. Priyanka was quoted as saying:
"I was depressed and went through an extremely tough time. When I was in a relationship with Rahul, be it before marriage or after that, I gave my 100% and expected the same in return. But when I found out that things were not as desired, I preferred to walk out of the marriage as I was sinking into depression and it was not good for my son. I realised, I have to live for Sohoj."

Rahul and Priyanka reconciled in 2023. The couple made this decision for their only son, Sohoj. Earlier, Priyanka filed a case against Rahul asking for child support. The legal battle was once the talk of the town. As per reports, the couple not only considered reconciliation but also decided to stay under the same roof for their child’s well-being.
