Who is Mustufa Raj?

While there is not much information available about Mustufa Raj, some reports suggest that he was born on February 19, 1987, in Mumbai. It is worth mentioning that he is the son of Ismail Raj and Sara Raj. If reports are to be believed, Mustufa also has a brother, Hussain Raj and a sister, Fatema Bhanpurwala. Reportedly, Mustufa Raj attended Bharda New High School in Mumbai before pursuing his bachelor's degree at the New York Film Academy.

Mustufa Raj is an event manager in Mumbai

According to multiple reports, Mustufa Raj is a well-known event manager in Mumbai. He specialises in handling weddings and large scale gatherings. He had also walked the ramp for several fashion shows, including Kerala Fashion League in 2016. During the same, he had walked alongside his now-wife, Priyamani. Mustufa is also the founder of  Zing Events and Promotion Pvt Ltd. Apart from this, his IMDb profile says that he has directed two films, Switchh, starring Vikrant Massey and short film, March with Sahil Chauhan.

Mustufa Raj was once allegedly involved in a fraud case

In 2019, Mustufa Raj's name was dragged in an alleged fraud case of Rs. 2.5 crore. The case was linked to a Celebrity Cricket League. Reportedly, Praveen Shyam Sethi had filed a case against Boney Kapoor and Pawan Jangid. He claimed that he and his friend had invested a whopping amount of money for matches, which never happened. Later, the case was declared invalid against the producer, but the names of Mustufa and Pawan were never cleared. 

How did Mustufa Raj meet Priyamani?

Priyamani and Mustufa first met at an IPL (Indian Premier League) match, during which the former was a brand ambassador and the latter worked as an event manager. Soon the two started dating and on the dance reality show, D 4 Dance, Mustufa proposed to Priyamani, who was the judge. Later, in 2016, the duo got engaged and a year later the couple registered their marriage in 2017. In 2016, Priyamani had announced her engagement and said:

"Happy to announce that Mustufa Raj and I got engaged on Friday the 27th at a close and private function at home."

Mustufa Raj and Priyamani’s marriage faced major backlash

After Mustufa and Priyamani tied the knot in 2017, their marriage instantly stirred public controversy. Since the two came from different religions, the couple faced major backlash. Their interfaith marriage attracted trolling, criticism and hateful comments. In early 2025, during an interview with Filmfare, The Good Wife actress had shared:

"When I announced my engagement, I just wanted to share this happy moment with people whom I honestly believed genuinely cared for me. However, I don’t know for what rhyme or reason, unnecessary hate started pouring in, and the love jihad accusations followed. They even went to the extent of saying that, when we have kids tomorrow, they would join ISIS. It took a toll on me for 2-3 days because I kept getting a lot of messages. Even now, if I post something with him, nine out of ten comments will be about our religion or caste."

According to multiple sources, Mustufa Raj has a whopping net worth of USD 13 million, which roughly converts to Rs. 110 crore. For the unversed, his major earning comes from his event management business and company, Zing Events and Promotion Pvt Ltd. Reportedly, a part of his net worth also includes earnings from his two films.
