Sanya Sagar early life and education

Sanya Sagar was born on May 1, 1990, in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. She did her early schooling in the city of Nawabs before moving to Mumbai in 2008. From there, the producer pursued a degree in Fashion Communication from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Sanya Sagar, to pursue further education, moved to London. She pursued a diploma in Filmmaking from the London Film Academy and later also applied for a master's. She completed her M.A. in Filmmaking at Goldsmiths, University of London, with a specialisation in producing.

Sanya Sagar hails from a politically active family

Sanya Sagar has built herself a life of her own, but her roots are from a politically active family. She is the daughter of none other than Pawan Sagar. For the unversed, Pawan is a politician and a close aide to the chief of The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati. Sanya's father served as an officer on special duty under the government of Mayawati. BSP is the third largest political party in India, making Pawan an extremely influential politician. 

Sanya Sagar professional ventures

Sanya Sagar completed her master's and worked as a 3rd Assistant Director at Sudhir Misra Films. She worked there for a year before moving on to work at Rocliffe Ltd and Hell's Kitchen International Ltd in London. She worked on a project named 11th Hour.

For the unversed, it was a short film that featured Salma Hayek and Paul Higgins and was directed by Jim Sheridan. In 2017, she started working as the director of Zee Entertainment Enterprise Limited. In the same year, Sanya Sagar formed her own production house, Pynkmoss Media Pvt Ltd. 

Sanya Sagar's marriage to Prateik Babbar

Sanya Sagar is also the first wife of Bollywood actor, Prateik Babbar. The duo tied the knot on January 23, 2019. According to reports, Prateik and Sanya had known each other for nine years and, before tying the knot, were courting each other for two years. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Prateik commented on the same and revealed that he wanted to date for a year or two before getting married. He also stated:

"I've been mentally ready for marriage for a while now as I believe it gives a relationship substance. But we want to enjoy this courtship period for a year or two."

Sanya Sagar and Prateik Babbar's love was, however, short-lived as the couple started going through some differences. One year into their relationship, it was reported that the couple was living separately. However, the couple made multiple efforts to mend their relationship, but as fate would have it, by January 2023, the couple was officially divorced. 

Sanya Sagar lives in a village in Goa

As they say, life goes on, and Sanya Sagar also found her calling. After the divorce, Sanya moved away from the limelight and settled in a village in Goa. However, that didn't stop her from hustling. She continued her involvement in arts and even gave modelling a go. She has also worked on projects like Tairaaki and A Mosquito in the Ear.
