Who Is 'Paradise Season 2' Actor, Thomas Doherty's Ex-Girlfriend? It Is THIS Famous Disney Star

Fans of the hit Disney+ sci-fi show, Paradise are having the time of their lives, as a second instalment was released just a few days ago. For the unversed, the first three episodes of Paradise Season 2 were released on February 23, 2026, with Episode 4 releasing on March 2, 2026. To mention, in the new season, we will see a number of returning cast members; for instance, Sterling K. Brown and Sarah Shahi will reprise their roles as 'Xavier' and 'Gabriela', respectively.

Well, the new addition to the show's cast that fans are most excited about is Thomas Doherty. In Paradise Season 2, Thomos Doherty will be in the role of a mysterious gang leader called ‘Link’. Prior to his appearance on the show, Thomas was most recently seen as ‘Leo’ in Disney+’s Tell Me Lies. Some of his other notable works you might recognise him from are The Lodge, Descendants, The Invitation, and the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl. It is worth mentioning that Thomas Doherty's appearance on Paradise Season 2 has reignited curiosity about his personal life. Well, many might not be aware, but Thomas does have a really famous ex-girlfriend whom you might just recognise.  

Who is Thomas Doherty's famous ex-girlfriend? 

Thomas Doherty was previously in a relationship with singer and actress Dove Cameron. Yes, you read that right! As you might already know, the 30-year-old is best known for her work on Disney's teen show, Liv and Maddie. Additionally, she also played the roles of ‘Betsy McDonough' and ‘Jenny Banks' in Schmigadoon!, which is a musical comedy starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong. 

Coming to her singing career, Dove has released several hit songs, such as Boyfriend, Too Much, Breakfast, As Long As I Have You, and Bad Idea, to name a few. To mention, Dove was named the Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022. Most recently, Dove was seen opposite Avan Jogia in Prime Video's thriller television series, 56 Days. It is worth noting that Dove Cameron is currently in a relationship with and is engaged to Måneskin vocalist, Damiano David.

According to reports online, Thomas Doherty and Dove Cameron first met on the set of the Disney movie, Descendants 2. Notably, this was almost a decade ago, in 2016. Reportedly, while filming, Dove and Thomas quickly developed a friendship. However, at the time their relationship remained strictly platonic as the singer was dating her Liv and Maddie co-star, Ryan McCartan, until August 2016.

Following this, while Thomas kept teasing their fans by sharing snippets of him and Dove hanging out together, it wasn't until a few months later, in February 2017, that the actress officially confirmed they were in a relationship. In an interview with People, Dove said that they were keeping things mostly to themselves. According to her, that is what makes it more romantic and real. To quote her exact words: 

“We're keeping it to ourselves, because everything is just so much more romantic and real when it's yours and it's private. So we are keeping the details to ourselves, but yeah, we're dating.”  

A few years later, in 2019, Thomas opened up about his feelings about Dove. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, he said that Dove was “the most incredible person” he has ever met. Not only that, but he also said that Dove is the “most compassionate and the most patient and the most genuine, loving person” he has ever met. He said: 

“[Dove is] so kind and so generous. She's amazing. She really is.”  

Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty continued to date for four years. Sadly, according to reports, they went their separate ways at the end of 2020. This time, too, Dove was the one who announced on social media that they had broken up. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote: 

“In October, Thomas and I decided to part ways. The decision was incredibly difficult, but we still have love for each other and will remain friends.”

Most recently, Thomas sparked dating rumours with Too Hot to Handle star, Georgia Hassarati. Additionally, he was also rumoured to be in a relationship with Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's actress and singer daughter, Scout Willis. At present, however, Thomas appears to be single.  

It is worth noting that Thomas's relationship status was also confirmed by his Paradise co-star, Sterling. During an interview with USA Weekly, he jokingly addressed the “young ladies” and said that while Thomas is single right now, “he probably won't be before the show is over.”
