YouTuber, Jack Doherty has found himself in another controversy yet again after he was arrested at Miami Beach on November 13, 2025. According to the Miami Beach Police, some officers took the 22-year-old creator into custody when they allegedly found illicit substances at home. Records suggest he is facing charges for possession of a controlled substance, ma**juana under 20 grams and resisting an officer. Incidentally, the public arrest comes only months after his public Fallout and messy split from his ex-wife, McKinley Richardson. Here's everything you must know about them.

Who is McKinley Richardson?

McKinley Richardson is a popular online personality with over a million followers on her Instagram account. She was earlier married to John Doherty during a Las Vegas livestream wedding that quickly went viral. The relationship crumbled soon after it due to John's 'disrespectful' and 'humiliating' wedding vows. Recalling the marriage on Camilla Araujo's podcast, McKinley revealed that she had not seen his vows beforehand and was stunned when he read lines stating that she would receive 'absolutely nothing' in a divorce, even if he were disloyal.

McKinley added that her father, whom Jack asked to stand centre stage during the wedding, was embarrassed over everything. Later, her father acknowledged that the moment was 'humiliating' for their family. However, it was just one reason for their split. McKinley explained that everything seemed interesting at the beginning, but fame and livestream culture changed everything between them. They began dating early in 2023 and collaborated on several videos. McKinley and John lived together in a USD 3.5 million waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale. 

McKinley later blamed Jack for pressuring her and manipulating her to make an OnlyFans account. However, within months of their marriage, she moved out. Jack confirmed their breakup on the George Janko show and mentioned that their bond was 'real' but complicated by continuous streaming and integrating business with personal life. In his words:

"I dunno, if I didn't livestream as much as I did, there were a lot of mixing relationships with business, it was fast, we were doing a lot. She was really amazing throughout our whole relationship. I just don't think people will ever fully be able to understand it." 

Why has Jack Doherty been arrested?

Jack Doherty's recent arrest adds a new layer to his already turbulent life. According to TMZ, the officers claimed that amphetamine, usually given to treat ADHD patients, was found in his possession. Additionally, they alleged that he attempted to break free while being handcuffed. Yet, he was caught moments later. Jack's bond was set at USD 3,500, although the police noted that it was not paid by the afternoon of of that day. It left fans in shock since Jack was livestreaming yacht videos in Miami, just hours before his arrest, where he seemed happy and normal.

According to the authorities, the incident took place on Washington Avenue after the officers on duty noticed his behaviour. It prompted them to approach Jack. After checking him, they found ma**juana and other controlled substances. However, despite the charges, Jack suffered no serious injuries or confrontations during or after his arrest. He has more than 15 million YouTube subscribers and a similar number on TikTok and Instagram, who are now waiting for his response to the arrest.
