The latest Netflix Tamil film, Made in Korea, is making waves for its unique storyline. The film, which tells the story of a young girl from a small town in Tamil Nadu travelling to South Korea, explores her struggles. It is the challenges she undergoes in a new country that make the film unique. It is the story of ‘Shenba’, played by Priyanka Mohan, who navigates her journey as she pursues her dream.

Priyanka Mohan was born in Bengaluru to a Tamilian father and a Kannadiga mother and never ever thought of becoming an actress. She graduated in biological engineering from PES University. So, her world was very far from the entertainment industry. However, during her college years, she took up a few modelling assignments as a hobby.
While Priyanka was busy with her hobby and taking on modelling assignments, she also started receiving audition offers. Soon, she entered the world of acting and made her debut in the Kannada film, Ondh Kathe Hella, in 2019. The film wasn’t a blockbuster hit, but it introduced Priyanka to the audience.

In the same year, Priyanka Mohan made her Telugu film debut with the film, Gang Leader, starring Nani. The film was a superhit and gave Priyanka the much-needed recognition she deserved. She later appeared in the Tamil film, Doctor, which made her a popular name in the South Indian film industry. She was also seen in films like Don and Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Within a few years, Priyanka managed to establish her name in the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industry.

While some hailed Priyanka Mohan’s stellar performance, many criticised her acting. Many social media users felt that Priyanka was expressionless and even labelled her as ‘wooden face’. But Priyanka didn’t let the criticism and trolling hamper her.
During an interaction with Sudhir Srinivasan, the actress addressed criticism of her acting and subtly alluded to a hate campaign against her. Speaking about the same, she said:
“I would say yes, campaign is a big word. But a lot of things have happened, which I don't want to dwell on the past. But I have understood that it's an uncertain industry, anything can happen to anyone. Obviously, it hurts me, but that fall helped me to rise.”
As per reports, Priyanka Mohan is not married. However, in 2024, a snap featuring her and Jayam Ravi went viral, which created a lot of buzz about their relationship. In the viral photo, the duo was seen tying the knot. Speaking to the media, Priyanka at the time dismissed the rumours. She also revealed that the two had worked together in the Tamil comedy film, Brother. Speaking about the speculations, she shared:
“Jayam Ravi and I worked together in Brother, and the photo that was released was just a still from the film. The makers released it, and some people from the industry congratulated me, thinking it was my engagement photo. It was just a film still, and I wish the team hadn't released it without clarifying its context."
