Nadagouda, in a tragic lift accident. The mishap happened in seconds, and the child could not be saved despite the best efforts. It was in November 2025 that Kirtan took to his Instagram handle to announce his directorial debut with the famous Telugu production house named Mythri Movie Makers. The untitled movie is a horror film made by Prashanth Neel, who is associated with the project. Kirtan had posted behind-the-scenes pictures from the pooja ceremony of the project. The film is set to have Surya Raj, Hanu Reddy, and Preethi Pagadala in important roles, and the cinematographer is Dinesh Divakaran. The shoot of the untitled horror movie has not yet started, and now it is not even clear whether Kirtan will return to the sets of the movie amid the loss of his son. He had earlier taken to his Instagram handle to speak of the film and write:

"A divine beginning to a scary journey. @mythriofficial and #PrashanthNeel bring to you a horror film - for those who wish to be scared, and especially those who think they won't. Pooja ceremony held grandly, shoot begins soon. #MythriBringsHorror."
