Christy Carlson Romano, best known for her role as 'Ren Stevens' in Disney Channel's Even Stevens, has left her fans concerned with her new social media post. She shared an emotional video on the post to share about her recent cancer diagnosis screening with concerning results, which is possibly an indication of a 'stageable cancer'.
According to People, Christy revealed she has been doing fine and is set to undergo further testing. Simultaneously, she is dealing with complexities in obtaining insurance coverage for the PET scan. During this uncertain time, Christy has leaned on her husband, Brendan Rooney, who has been by her side throughout the ordeal. Here's everything to know about him.

Brendan Rooney is a writer, producer, entrepreneur, and former U.S. Marine. According to his LinkedIn profile, Brendan has studied Political Science at Columbia University before pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute. In turn, his background in academics and creative storytelling eventually led him to make a career across media. Along with his creative pursuits, Brendan is the CEO and co-founder of PodCo, a podcast network he began with his wife.

The company makes podcast content, including rewatch shows and celebrity-driven storytelling projects. According to the industry reports, Brendan plays a significant role in managing the network and works directly with Christy on content creation. Before founding the company, he worked in digital media and branded content while carving out a reputation as a versatile figure in entertainment. Apart from his professional work, Brendon served in the U.S. Marine Corps before transitioning into media and creative work. According to his friends and colleagues, Christy has had a steady and supportive presence in Brendan's life.

Christy Carlson Romano's love story began in 2011, when they were both studying at Columbia University in New York. According to People, Christy was studying at Barnard College and worked as an assistant director on a documentary about veterans. Since Brendan was then the president of Columbia's Military Veterans group, he interviewed for the same project, and their meeting soon turned into a meaningful connection.

Later that year, the couple exchanged rings during a romantic trip to Italy, where Brendan popped the question during a gondola ride in Venice. They tied the knot on December 31, 2013, in a winter-themed ceremony at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, Canada. Since then, the pair have built a family together and welcomed two daughters, Isabella Victoria, born in 2016, and Sophia Elizabeth, born in 2019. Eventually, the family relocated to Austin, Texas, where they continued to live and work together.

Christy Carlson Romano recently shocked her fans after she and Brendan both underwent cancer screenings due to their family background. Although Brendan's test results came back negative, Christy revealed that she got a positive result. She elaborated in the Instagram video that the results could mean an early or "stageable cancer" through additional testing. However, she has to undergo further testing to confirm the diagnosis. According to People, Christy said she has been going back and forth with insurance providers to obtain approval for additional scans needed for clarity. In her words:
"Both my parents had cancer, my mom beat it, my dad eventually didn't. My grandmother on my mom's side had lung cancer and died from that. My husband's came back completely negative. Mine did not come back negative."
Christy also reflected that cancer has long affected her family and community, including her parents. Subsequently, she has been facing the emotional toll of waiting for answers as she continues to balance her cancer and family life. The actress also highlighted that her biggest motivation is her two young daughters and her will to stay strong for them. Sharing her further plans, she said:
"I'm sure people think I'm overreacting, but I'm not because cancer is pretty serious and I have two little girls. This is a very emotional post… I'm gonna keep fighting for answers and eventually give you updates."

We wish Christy Carlson Romano, a speedy recovery.
