She got the surprise of her life minutes after finishing her final race in Cortina d'Ampezzo on February 12, 2026, when her boyfriend, Connor, went down on one knee to propose to her. After Breezy's impressive performance, the crowds and cameras could not have captured a more heartbreaking scene on the sidelines of the Milan-Cortina Games. Who Is Connor Watkins?

Connor Watkins is a former Division I quarterback. He now works in the construction industry. Before stepping into the public spotlight with his engagement to Breezy Johnson, Connor had already carved out his journey in the athletic world. He played college football at Villanova University from 2019 to 2024, where he was recognised as a standout quarterback. Additionally, he was named a CAA preseason Offensive Player of the Year and earned All-CAA honors. 

In 2025, he reportedly worked with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had attracted brief NFL interest before shifting his focus to his professional career. Academically, Connor had no fewer achievements. He pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate in 2023 and later completed an MBA in Strategic Management in 2024 from Villanova. Presently, he is working in the construction industry along with balancing his professional goals and supporting Breezy in her career.

Breezy Johnson and Connor Watkins's contemplated love story 

Breezy Johnson and Conner Watkins met in the summer of 2023 through the dating app Bumble. After his Olympics proposal, Connor Watkins opened up about his love story and revealed that until his first meeting with Breezy, he had no idea he was going on a date with a world-class alpine skier. Instead, he learned about Breezy's athletic achievements after 10 minutes into their first meeting. Since then, the couple's bond has grown, and Conner has often been seen cheering for Breezy at her competitions. 

In fact, he also witnessed her win the gold medal in the women's downhill earlier in the games. Insiders have described a grounded and supportive relationship. Moreover, Conner has always understood the pressures of high-level competition. The 30-year-old Olympic gold medalist previously admitted that she had dreamt of getting engaged at the Olympics and dropped some hints about it, but never imagined it would come true.

Conner Watkins popped the question shortly after Breezy crashed during the women's Super-G event and was unable to finish the race. Instead of focusing on disappointment, he decided to make it unforgettable. He gave her a custom ring featuring a blue sapphire set between white gold bands and a wooden plaque. It featured a quote from Taylor Swift's song The Alchemy, "Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?" Sharing about his idea behind the proposal, Conner Watkins told NBC:

"I was really hoping that I could get to the finish area and do it the way I wanted. And it turned out we could, and we're just super excited. The moment had gone above and beyond our wildest imagination."
