Bollywood actress, Ayesha Takia Azmi is still remembered for her exceptional roles in popular movies, such as Wanted, Dil Maange More, Socha Na Tha, and many more. At the mere age of 15, Ayesha stepped into modelling and did many commercials and music videos. Later, she made her acting debut in Bollywood with the hit movie, Taarzan: The Wonder Car back in 2004 at the age of 18.
Ayesha had tied the knot with a Mumbai-based entrepreneur, Farhan Azmi, in 2009. After a few years of marital bliss, the couple was blessed with a baby boy, whom they have named Mikail Azmi. Not many people know that Farhan Azmi is the son of Samajwadi Party leader, Abu Azmi. Farhan’s father, Abu Azmi, is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and represents Mankhurd Shivaji Constituency.
Apart from belonging to an acclaimed family, Farhan is a restaurateur and entrepreneur. He is currently running successful restaurants like Koyla, Café Basilico, ChaiCoffi, and Basilico House. Farhan attended Scholar High School, Colaba, and graduated from Sydenham College.
Just like his father, Abu Azmi, Farhan Azmi, too, had joined politics and is quite active in his agendas. He is also indulged in various social causes like Empowering the Youth, addressing the needs of underprivileged children, Environmental Issues, and Women’s Safety. Not just this, Farhan and his team also launched helplines to fight Discrimination on the grounds of religion.

Ayesha Takia met Farhan Azmi when she visited his restaurant in the suburbs of Mumbai. Interestingly, since both Ayesha and Farhan’s fathers knew each other well, the duo too, knew one another. Soon, Ayesha and Farhan fell in love after their frequent meetings, and their relationship became the talk of the town. In many of her interviews during that time, Ayesha gave subtle hints about Farhan, heaping praises on him.
After dating each other for three years, Farhan and Ayesha decided to tie the nuptial knot in December 2008. In 2009, Ayesha and Farhan tied the knot in a Muslim nikah, which led to Ayesha's conversion to Islam, and she added Azmi to her surname. Four years later, Ayesha and Farhan embraced parenthood and welcomed a baby boy whom they named Mikail Azmi. Ayesha was just 23 when she married Farhan and after her wedding, she bid adieu to her film career.
On March 4, 2025, Farhan Azmi was booked by the Goa police for allegedly creating a scuffle in North Goa’s Candolim area. The incident, which allegedly involved rash driving and a heated argument with locals, escalated when Farhan reportedly brandished his licensed firearm.
A report by Hindustan Times revealed that Farhan was driving a luxury SUV in Goa’s Candolim area and was stopped by locals who accused him of rash driving. In response, Farhan called the police and allegedly warned the locals to step back, stating that he had a licensed firearm for protection.
Taking to her IG handle, Ayesha Takia reacted to her husband, Farhan Azmi’s arrest and claimed that he and their son were bullied by local Goan goons. Penning what happened, Ayesha wrote:
“It was a night of horror for our family up until this morning… Just saw this post and need to share. I will share more in due time… My husband and son were brutally bullied and scared for their life as local Goan goons mobbed, threatened and tormented them for hours… They even badly roughed up the police who were called by my husband to protect our son and him."
