Based in Mumbai, Apoorva is a popular content creator with over 2.6 million followers on Instagram and over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Apoorva was listed under the Top 100 Digital Stars by Forbes. She is popular for her mini vlogs, and her content is often filled with expletives, which got her popularity among young viewers. Despite her unfiltered commentary, Apoorva’s major audience consists of women. She has collaborated with brands like OnePlus, Netflix, Spotify, Google, Hotstar, Amazon, Maybelline and Meta.

Following her rise on social media, Apoorva ventured into acting in 2023 and made her debut with the web series, Who’s Your Gynac. This is not the first time that Apoorva has been at the centre of a controversy. The content creator often faces criticism for her foul language. Recently, several videos of her surfaced on social media, where the rebel kid was seen engaging in a heated exchange of words with the crowd at Delhi Technological University. When a member of the audience shouted at her, she responded by saying:

“100 baar aur todungi aur tu idhar aaja teri haddiyan bhi todungi. Tu idhar udhar bhaag raha tha na chup chupke. Aaja.”

Complaints filed against Apoorva Makhija for her vulgar comment about women’s body part

After the controversial episode of Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent went viral, several complaints have been filed against Apoorva Makhija. The complaints filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission accused Apporva of her ‘disgusting’ comments. Former NCW chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma called the video shocking and said:

“The video is very shocking and I think whether it is a female or a male, this kind of joke is never accepted by society. Making jokes about a mother or a female's body doesn't look good and somewhere it shows how today's youth has stooped down to such a level morally.”

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, also reacted to the complaints and stated that if the societal rules are broken, then strict actions will be taken. In his words:

“I have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others... In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken against them.”
