Dancing With The Stars season 34 has its winner as Robert Irwin, who was predicted to win the show. He scored an 89 out of 90 and, with the votes from the audience, was crowned the winner, along with winning the Mirror Ball Trophy. While people have been left enthrilled with Robert Irwin's winning shot, an elimination from week 10 is still haunting the viewers.
In week 10, which was the semi-final of DWTS, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas were eliminated even after they scored well from the judges' panel. The elimination of the duo came as a shock to the viewers. Now, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas appeared on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, wherein they talked about their shocking elimination from the show. Mark Ballas, on the podcast, revealed that he and Whitney had the gut feeling that they would be eliminated on the finale night. And that instinct led Mark Ballas to tell Whitney to enjoy the show. He could be quoted as saying:
"I think that day, we kind of had a gut feeling to be honest. I told her 'Let’s just go out. Let’s let’s enjoy ourselves. Let’s have fun. Go for it. Like, let your hair down. Enjoy this.'"

Mark Ballas further explained that he is an over-rehearser, and although it's a bit old-school, it's just his thing. He also added that he had to play the role of motivator to Whitney Leavitt that day, as she was getting very emotional, with the ominous feeling that the dance would be their last on the show. Mark said:
"I’m an over-rehearser. I like to rehearse to the point where it’s just so ingrained in your body. I hate leaving things to chance. Might be old-school, but that’s how I was raised when I was dancing. It’s just, you rehearse it, rehearse, rehearse it so you don’t have to think. And in between our first dance and second one, we were [backstage] running it through. Leavitt was getting emotional. As a result, I kind of had to go into football-coach mode, where I was like, ‘You can do this!' I was starting to get worried that she’s going to go out there and black out.”

During the conversation, Mark Ballas added that his strategy has always been to give his best and do everything for the same, as this is not the first time that a dynamic performer could be eliminated that early. He also added that he had experienced this before, when he was eliminated with Sabrina Bryan on season 5. Mark mentioned that this is due to the social media hype that these things happen.

On the other hand, Leavitt shared that according to her, their dance was pretty solid, and particularly the Viennese Waltz, which they did, was one of her favourites, but something surely felt off. When the host mentioned that she and Mark were among the highest scorers of that night, even though they were eliminated, Leavit added:

"I don’t know. I mean, if I was speculating, I’d say, ‘Yeah, maybe ‘Secret Lives.’ Because it was such a huge divide. Like, you either really loved me for that, or you really hated me for that. So, maybe it swayed some people.”
Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas performed the Cha Cha to Prince's song, 1999. They also performed the Viennese Waltz to the song Slow Love on Prince Night. For their performance, the duo received a total of 58 from the judges' panel and fewer votes from the audience. This led to their shocking elimination, even though the duo scored the perfect 40 just the previous week.
