The name Anupam Kher needs no introduction as the actor himself is an institution of talents. The recipient of two National Film Awards, eight Filmfare Awards, he is one of the most versatile actors of the glamour world. Born in Shimla to a Kashmiri Pandit family, Anupam always wanted to be an actor. After passing out from the National School Of Drama, he had shifted to Mumbai to make his mark in Indian Cinema. It was in 1982 when Anupam had made his acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt's film, Saaransh, which had got him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
With movies like Daddy, Ram Lakhan, Tezaab, Parinda, Chandani, Dil, Darr, Anupam had received wider recognition and had become one of the most bankable actors. He had also appeared in a couple of Hollywood films too. Anupam had received immense praises for his role of 'Pushkar Nath' in the 2022 film, The Kashmir Files, which is based on the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits. Anupam Kher, who himself is a Kashmiri pandit, has beautifully shown his pain and emotions attached to the historical event.

Apart from his acting skills, Anupam is also known for his humanitarian works. Do you know that the actor had adopted a Kashmiri pandit family? Yes, you read it right! It was in the year 2016, when a report by Mumbai Mirror had suggested that the versatile actor, Anupam Kher had secured the life of an impoverished Kashmiri pandit family when he had decided to adopt them.
The family, led by Ashok Kumar Raina, his wife and his three daughters had stayed back in Zadroo, Pulwama in south Kashmir after the Kashmiri pandits were asked to leave the state in 1990. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Ashok, who was a daily wage labourer had talked about his condition and had stated that they were financially dependent on their relatives.

Since Ashok had no employment options, he didn't leave the valley with the rest of the community. Anupam not only adopted the family but had also taken care of Ashok's elder daughter's wedding and had managed the expenses. While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Anupam had talked about the family and had stated:
"I will do my best to keep them happy. I do not want them happy. I do not want them to go with a begging bowl before anybody."
Talking about his personal life, Anupam is married to actress, Kirron Kher, and they are the epitome of love. They both had gone through a failed marriage and had found happiness within each other. When Anupam had met Kirron, he was already a married man and she had also married a businessman, but their respective marriages were hitting rock bottom. Sharing a common passion for acting, the two had unknowingly fallen in love and it was Anupam, who went on to propose Kirron. The two had got married and had started their happily ever after. Kirron had proved to be his lucky charm as, after two years of meeting Kirron, Anupam had got his first break.
