Despite the rumours of their relationship, Jacob subtly denied the rumours by referring to Zendaya as 'like a sister' while in an interview with GQ. Heaping praises on Zendaya, Elordi said:

“Zendaya is an amazing creative, you know? She’s super dope to work with. She’s an incredible artist and a very caring person to all of us.” But when it came to the question of whether they were dating, the actor said, “She’s like my sister.”

Zendaya even spent Thanksgiving with Elordi’s family in Australia. A source said to PEOPLE that they took a lot of effort to keep their relationship a secret. The rumoured couple even declined to have photos taken when they met the cast of the musical.
