Tristan Rogers was one of those rare actors, who left a lasting impact on television. He was known for his charisma and versatility. His amazing acting earned him a loyal fan base around the world. The beloved actor suddenly died on August 15, 2025, which has left not just the fans shocked, but also fellow actors.

Tristan Rogers passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 79, after a long battle with lung cancer. His manager, Meryl Soodak, confirmed the news of his death and said that Tristan Rogers was never a smoker, so his diagnosis was completely unexpected and extremely saddening. 

The actor publicly informed about his diagnosis in July 2025, just a month before his sudden death. After his announcement, a lot of fans showered love, support and blessings on him. His treatment against lung cancer began in July 2025, but unfortunately that didn't help him for a long time.

Who was Tristan Rogers?

Tristan Rogers was an Australian actor, who was born on June 3, 1946, in Melbourne. He started his career in the early 1970s and gradually made his mark in both television and films. He was best known for his iconic role as 'Robert Scorpio' in the popular soap opera, General Hospital. This show made him a household name and got him international fame. Initially, his role in the show, General Hospital, was just for 2 days, but in an 2022 interview, Tristan recalled:

"I then was called into executive producer, Gloria Monty’s office and told, we really like what you’re doing, would you like to stay?"

Over the years, he also appeared in other hit soap operas like The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, which further increased his fame. Later, he even did films like Jack Rio, Raven and more. Apart from acting, he provided the voice of 'Jake', the kangaroo mouse, in the 1990 Disney animated film, The Rescuers Down Under.

The cast of General Hospital reacted to Tristan Rogers’ death

After the sudden death of Tristan Rogers, one of the makers of the soap opera, General Hospital, Frank Valentini took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and expressed his sadness. On August 16, 2025, he shared that the entire cast was heartbroken to hear this news and the 'Port Charles' will never be the same without him. In his words:

"The entire @GeneralHospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him or Robert Scorpio."

Tristan Roger had a rich and layered personal life that very beautifully complemented his screen presence. The amazing actor first got married to actress, Barbara Meale in 1974. Barbara Meale is known for her role in Sex and the Other Woman, Homicide, and Out of Love. The ex-couple stayed together for almost a decade before parting ways in 1984. 

Later, he was linked with his General Hospital co-star, Emma Samms. Their on- screen chemistry was visible off-screen as well. However, their romantic relationship did not last for long. In 1991, Tristan met Teresa Parkerson, who eventually became his second wife. The duo tied the knot in May, 1995, and stayed together till Rogers' death. The couple has two children- daughter, Sara Jane and son, Cale.
