The rapper was earlier married to Dreka Gates, but their relationship ended after a few years and two children. In 2025, Kevin married Brittany Renner, but the marriage lasted only 52 days. Kevin Gates and Dreka's divorce reason

Kevin Gates and Dreka got married in 2015. However, in 2025, Dreka officially filed for divorce after nine years of marriage. She revealed that she wants to part ways with her rapper husband due to 'irreconcilable differences'. Not only this, Dreka also claimed that Kevin began dismantling their financial foundation in 2021.

Dreka stated Kevin stopped paying for property taxes and their children's private school tuition. She even stated that their farm in Mississippi is in foreclosure after the IRS issued a USD 7 million tax levy. Dreka further asked the court to make Kevin pay USD 27K per month in child support and over USD 46K per month as spousal support.

Kevin Gates denied being legally married to Dreka

However, Kevin gave a shocking response. The rapper argued that the two of them were never legally married, leaving everyone in shock. However, Dreka's official team called the rapper's claims factually baseless.

Kevin Gates and Dreka's love story

Kevin and Dreka first met each other in 2003. Their relationship was marked by Dreka meeting Gates as a young rapper scribbling away in his grandmother's house, who shared his dream of becoming a musician. The couple fell in love and welcomed their first child in 2012 and their second child in 2014. After which, they got married in 2015. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Dreka established herself as a businesswoman through her record label, Bread Winner Association.

Kevin Gates' second marriage, which lasted just 52 days

For those who don't know, Kevin Gates got married to Brittany Renner in April 2025. The two were spotted together during a livestream, which ignited their relationship rumours. Later, they confirmed their relationship and got married on April 6, 2025. However, within 52 days of their marriage, the duo divorced on May 28, 2025. Talking about her divorce with Real 92.3 LA in June 2025, Brittany shared that in Islam there is a 90-day waiting period to see if the woman is not pregnant because the man would have to take the accountability. She was quoted as saying:

"We got married April 6 and divorced May 28. But there is a 90-day waiting period in Islam to see if you’re pregnant, because then he would be responsible. And then also in those 90 days, it’s for reconciliation because Allah wants you stay married, and during those 90 days you are not to entertain anybody romantically."

Brittany further added that this 90-day period has made her life easier as she could focus on herself. She added that nobody gets married to not stay in the marriage. She added that she has no regrets as she followed her heart, and gave her 100 percent to her marriage. She said:

"I followed my heart and that’s what more than most people can say, and I think when you do that, you get all the clarity you need and there’s no stone left unturned and there's no regret. A lot of people, their issue is, even just in dating, in marriage, it’s people just don’t give it their all. They don’t just go for it. But I feel like when you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens because I gave 100 percent."
