Sharing their condolences at the incident, a spokesperson from the Discovery Channel told TMZ: 

"The tragic passing of Todd Meadows deeply saddens us. This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crewmates, and the entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time."

Todd Meadows is survived by his three young sons and his partner, Kennady Harvey. Additionally, many of his family members have shared heartfelt tribute messages on social media to express their grief and honour his memory. Moreover, Captain Shelford has asked the public to keep Todd's children and loved ones in their prayers as they are trying to deal with an unimaginable loss. At the same time, they have set up a GoFundMe page to support Todd's funeral costs and his children. Recalling Todd, the captain said:

Right now, our hearts are broken in a way that words can't fully express. We ask that you lift Todd's children and family in prayer and keep them in your thoughts as they face the days ahead without him."
