British actor, William Rush, who was the son of Coronation Street star, Debbie Rush, passed away on December 17, 2025. His mother, Debbie, confirmed his demise in an emotional Instagram post and addressed him as her "beautiful baby". Debbie admitted that their whole family is completely devastated by the loss. News reports instead mentioned his other close bonds, such as his parents and siblings in his family, who were a strong source of support for the 31-year-old throughout his life. At the same time, William led a relatively private life, and there is no public information about him having any romantic partner over the years.

William Rush came from a close-knit family where he was the son of popular actress Debbie Rush, popular for playing the role of 'Anna Windass' on Coronation Street, and her husband. Andrew Rush. The couple had tied the knot back in 1989. William is also survived by his siblings, Poppy Rush and Tom Rush. Poppy followed in her mother's footsteps and made a career in acting. She appeared in EastEnders, while Tom has largely led a private life. However, he has been mentioned alongside the family in various tributes. The actress explained that William gave the 'most precious gift of all" in the form of hope and life to other families. Debbie emphasised how her son's kindness and love will always be a significant part of her legacy. However, she requested privacy for their family as they grieved the loss together.

William Rush built an impressive career for himself at a young age. He learned acting at the Manchester School of Acting and first appeared as 'Grange Hill' in Shameless before becoming a household name as 'Josh Stevenson' in the BBC's Waterloo Road between 2009 and 2013. He also appeared in Casualty, Vera, Friday On My Mind, and even shared screen space with his mother in Coronation Street. William was admired for his talent, charm, and tireless work ethic. Meanwhile, his Waterloo Road co-star Katie McGlynn told media outlets, including OK! Magazine, how "Will brought a smile to everyone's face and was a kind soul."
