Vivek Oberoi stepped into Bollywood in the early 2000s. He had faced several ups and downs in his acting career and was a part of some significant controversies. When his films didn't do well, Vivek's business helped him earn money and have a good lifestyle. Recently, he sat down for an interview with Aaj Tak and shared how his father and actor, Suresh Oberoi, helped him develop his entrepreneurial skills at a young age, which has helped him earn money when his films didn't do well.

Vivek Oberoi says his father used to give him merchandise to sell when he was 10

Vivek Oberoi has been a part of several popular films in Bollywood, such as Company and Saathiya. Even when his films didn't work, he managed to stay financially secure because of his businesses. The Company actor is a successful businessman who owns a production company, a real estate company, and many other ventures. Vivek revealed that his father trained him to develop entrepreneurial skills when he was ten. The actor said that his father, Suresh Oberoi, gave him certain merchandise to sell and allowed him to keep the profits, which developed his business acumen. He was quoted as saying:

"The day school would get over, the next day my father would get some products. It could be electronics, perfumes, different kinds of things. He would say that this total merchandise is of Rs. 2000. How much can you take out of this? If I took merchandise worth Rs 1000, then whatever I made above that would be mine, and I would return Rs. 1000 back to my father. I was 10 years old at the time."

Vivek shared that his father, Suresh Oberoi, made him learn how to keep accounts when he was 15

After making him learn about selling and making profits, Suresh Oberoi continued training Vivek about business. Vivek said he had learned about maintaining accounts since he was 15. He shared that his father used to make him keep a tab on his earnings regularly, which helped him become more disciplined about managing money. In his words:

"If you go to sell on your cycle, then how much money you save? If you take an auto, then how much do you spend? So, I had a discipline for this, which would keep increasing yearly. Until I was 15-16, my father would make me do this every year."

Mostly, the kids of age 10 are busy in playing. However, Vivek's life was a bit different. At that age, he was taught how to make money, and the actor credits his father for the shift in his life. He said:

"All of that character-building happened because of my father. Since the age of 15, I have never received blessings from my father."
