His tattoos include a flower design, an Om, a God’s eye, a monastery, a Japanese Samurai, his parent’s names, numbers 175 and 269, denoting the milestones of his career, a Scorpio and Lord Shiva.

However, there is a funny story behind his first tattoo. Not everyone knows it, but Virat got his first tattoo in the year 2007. In an interview with Sumukhi Suresh for Wrogn Star Virat Kohli, the former Indian Captain, Virat, recalled the hilarious story behind his first tattoo. Talking about the same, Virat stated that he stumbled upon a tattoo studio in MG Road in Bangalore, where he randomly got a tribal design tattooed on his right forearm.

The cricketer also stated that he didn’t think about the tattoo's significance, and much later, he realised that tattoos must have some meaning. He also said that he felt bad for his fans, who copied his tattoo, which had no meaning. He also revealed that the tattoo naturally had the alphabet 'F', and he himself termed it as ‘Faith’, even though it did not represent anything. He carried the tattoo for about six years and later got it covered.

Virat Kohli’s latest tattoo is a symbol of his spiritual journey

In April 2023, Virat got a new tattoo ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023. He covered up one of his old tattoos with a new one. The famous tattoo artist, Sunny Bhanushali recalled the procedure and revealed that the studio was completely shut and armed with security guards when the process took place. Calling the tattoo, a powerful symbol, Sunny said:

“He knew that this tattoo would be with him for the rest of his life, a powerful symbol of his spiritual journey and his connection to something greater than himself."
