Virat Kohli's Instagram Post For His 'Bangalore Girl' Anushka Sharma: 'Together All The Way...'

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their first IPL trophy on June 3, 2025, and it was not just a big moment for the team and fans, but it has a deep connection with Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma. After years of trying and falling short, this win is very personal to the couple. Virat has been playing for RCB for the last 18 years, since 2008 and Anushka has been with him and supported RCB from the past 11 years and finally seeing the team hold the trophy for the first time was very emotional for the couple as well as for the fans.

Virat Kohli’s heartfelt post for his wife, Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli has always given the credit for his victory to his wife, Anushka Sharma, who has always been there by his side supporting him. On June 4, 2025, Virat Kohli took to his Instagram and shared a post with Anushka, thanking her for supporting him and while dedicating his victory to her, he wrote:

"I’ve seen it for 18 years and she’s seen it for 11. Suffered the same moments since 2014 and celebrated every close win and the madness of our supporters at the Chinnaswamy. We’re both equally relieved and since shes a bangalore girl too this is far more special for her. Together all the way through."

RCB wins after 18 years

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the IPL 2025 final. The match was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Punjab won the toss and chose to field and with their well planned fielding they didn’t let RCB make a lot of runs. RCB made 190 runs, in which Virat made 43 runs. However, the fielding of RCB was the best part of the game, in which Krunal Pandya played an important role. His performance proved to be one of the turning points of the match. The overall team effort took RCB towards its first IPL trophy.

The winning moment was an emotional moment for everyone including Virat, who couldn’t control his emotions during the last over when RCB’s victory was confirmed. He broke down in tears on the field, with his teammates rushing to embrace him. Former RCB legends, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle were present at the stadium and joined in the post-match celebrations. Their presence made the moment even more special for fans, as both had contributed heavily to RCB’s history over the years. They were also seen wearing the jersey of RCB and holding the trophy with Virat.

She captioned it 'Namma Bengaluru current scenes.' It showed how proud and happy she was, especially because Bengaluru is her hometown. The streets of the city were filled with fans celebrating the team’s win and seeing Virat finally lift the trophy was a proud moment for Anushka and for the millions of RCB supporters who waited for years.

While everybody was all happy with their victory, the winning parade turned out to be a little dangerous as it caused a stampede with around 11 deaths and a few injured. On the same, a statement was made by the BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia, in which he said:

"It is very unfortunate. This is a negative side of popularity. People are crazy for their cricketers. The organisers should have planned it better. My deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. I wish early recovery of the injured."
