Former Indian Cricketer, Vinod Kambli Detected With Clots In Brain, His Doctor Shares Health Update

Fans of Vinod Kambli got tensed when recently news spread like wildfire that he is in a critical condition. The former cricketer now has been diagnosed with clots in his brain, as revealed by the team of doctors who are treating him. It was on December 23, 2024, when Vinod was admitted to Thane's Akruti hospital after he complained of getting cramps and a urinary infection.

Vinod Kambli's brain clot details

Akruti Hospital had conducted an array of tests, and it was Dr. Vivek Trivedi who was looking after Vinod and, looking at the test results, said that there was a clot in his brain. His health is constantly being observed, and the team will be carrying out additional tests on December 24, 2024. According to a Hindustan Times report, the hospital in-charge, S Singh has decided to give Vinod Kambli life-long free treatment.

Vinod Kambli's latest health update

The 52-year-old former cricketer was brought to Akruti hospitals by one of his die-hard fans, who also owns the hospital located in  Bhiwandi's Kalher area of Thane district. Vinod Kambli had many health challenges for the past couple of years, and he also had to undergo two heart surgeries back in 2013, for which he had received financial help from Sachin Tendulkar. Kambli has constantly been in the news for his health condition. It was in October 2024 when he could not get off his bike. His recent appearance at the unveiling of the legendary cricket coach, Ramakant Achrekar's memorial back in Mumbai showed his ill health. He was seen along with his friend, Sachin Tendulkar.

Even cricket legends like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar had shown their concerns over Kambli's ill health. The 1983 World Cup Indian cricket members had come out, wanting to help Vinod Kambli and suggested rehabilitation.

When Vinod Kambli credited his son and wife for him being alive

The former Indian cricketer, in an earlier interview with Vicky Lalwani, had revealed that he was fighting a persistent urine infection due to which he had collapsed and had fallen down. Talking about his health scare, Kambli had said:

"I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me. This happened one month ago. My head started spinning; I collapsed and fell down. The doctor told me to get admitted. I was admitted in three separate hospitals."

The former ace cricketer had also said in an earlier interview with the Hindustan Times that he was in three different hospitals on December 23, 2024, because of a severe urinary infection. His health had taken an alarming turn when his condition suddenly became bad. Kambli was also seen having an emotional moment as he held the hand of the doctor and expressed gratitude for saving his life.
