Navy Officer, Vinay Narwal's Sister And Father Perform Final Rites, Wife's Tribute Surfaces Online

India has been left shattered by the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists who visited the beautiful place with their families to have a good time. Among those families, several newlywed couples arrived to celebrate their new beginnings, including Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who married six days ago and visited Pahalgam with his newlywed wife, Himanshi. The latter was left in shock after the incident, and her video paying last tribute to her husband left everyone emotional. While Vinay's family was seen in tears at his final rites on April 23, 2025.

Navy officer, Vinay Narwal's mortal remains were brought to IGI airport, Delhi, from Jammu and Kashmir and later, taken to his hometown Karnal by road. Hundreds of locals gathered to pay their final respects to the young officer. Moreover, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta arrived at the airport to pay her tribute and console Himanshi, who was left distraught over the incident. Vinay was cremated with full military honours in his hometown.

A video from the young navy officer's final rites surfaced on the internet where his twin sister, Srishti, who is a UPSC aspirant and his father, Rajesh Narwal, were seen performing the rituals. Before the funeral, Himanshi was seen standing near her husband's coffin, where her words left everyone emotional. She bravely told ANI:

"Let his soul rest in peace… We should all be proud of him in every way."

ATV operator who rushed Vinay and Himanshi to ambulance recalls the chilling incident

President of Pahalgam, ATV stand, Irshad, recently came forward to interact with the ANI and revealed that he was the one who took Vinay and Himanshi to the ambulance. Since Baisaran is a non-motorable area, he, along with his colleagues, helped the police bring back the tourists and their families. He mentioned that he brought Vinay to the ambulance and lied to Himanshi about his well-being amid chaos. Recalling the incident, he said:

"For two days now, we've been helping police and the Army. I was the one who brought the Navy officer and his wife down. His pulse was gone, but his wife kept asking, 'He's okay, right?' I couldn't tell her the truth. Later, when I saw the full scene, I cried not once, but four times. We don't want such incidents ever to happen again in our Kashmir."

Vinay Narwal's mother was distributing sweets, unaware of his demise 

Vinay Narwal, who joined the Indian Navy two years ago, was posted in Kochi. He took leave for his marriage that took place on April 16, 2025, with Himanshi, who is a Gurugram-based professor. The couple hosted a reception three days later and jetted off to Jammu and Kashmir for their honeymoon. They initially planned to visit Switzerland, but they changed their plans after they didn't get visa approval on time. His mother distributed sweets to relatives and neighbours on April 22, 2025, for his marriage when the tragedy struck. Another video of Himanshi went viral, where she recalled the incident and said she was having Bhel Puri with Vinay when a gunman came and asked about their religion before shooting her husband.
