Still, he experienced a new wave of fame after his stellar performances in the thriller series, Mirzapur and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's biographical film, 12th Fail. As we all know, with great fame comes constant public scrutiny. Hence, Vikrant is getting a lot of attention for his unorthodox lifestyle choices.
Vikrant Massey, will be appearing in the upcoming film, The Sabarmati Report, recently opened up about the many different religions followed in his house. He was born to a Christian father and a Sikh mother, which instilled secular values in him and his brother. In a conversation with Sushant Sinha, the actor opened up about the interfaith practices in his home, which have received a lot of attention.
In a conversation with Sushant Sinha on his YouTube channel, Vikrant shared that his family celebrates everything and his home is a multi-cultural habitat. He further added that they celebrate every festival in the book, from Eid and Gurupurab to Diwali and Christmas. Vikrant shared that his family celebrates all festivities because he believes that is what real India is about.
"Our family celebrates everything very proudly. My parents live with me and my wife. My wife is a Rajput Thakur. If you look at it from the point of view of religion, we believe in everything. We go and celebrate Eid at our friends’ houses, we celebrate Christmas with dad. Now Gurupurab is coming up so we will celebrate that as well because I believe this is real India."
Massey, who faced threats for doing The Sabarmati Report and was criticised for touching his wife's feet, has been breaking a lot of orthodox standards lately. Vikrant also shared that it is not just for the internet, but in reality, the secular household system is still applicable in the house. Reflecting on the topic he shared:
"Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaayi, sabhi bhai bhai, and that value system exists in my house. Even in my extended family, my maasi, who is a Sikh, is married to a Muslim man. My cousin is married to a Gujarati man. I have married a Rajput Thakur, so ours is a secular family."

In a chat with Unfiltered by Samdish, he revealed that his parents supported his brother's conversion. He further added that his mother is a Sikh woman, and his father is a church-going Christian. He shared:
"My brother’s name is Moeen, I am called Vikrant. You’d wonder why the name Moeen? He converted to Islam, my family let him change his religion. They said, 'Beta, if you find satisfaction this, then go ahead.' He converted at the age of 17, it is a big step. My mother is Sikhni, my father is church-going Christian, he goes to church twice a week. From a young age, I have seen a lot of arguments related to religion and spirituality."
