Vijay Varma has emerged as one of the finest actors in the Hindi film industry in contemporary times. His versatile acting and wide range of performances have made millions his ardent fans. Apart from his professional front, the 38-year-old's personal life has attracted attention in the media.
Vijay has been dating Tamannaah for quite some time now, and they have become one of the most loved couples in Tinseltown. The actor, who is now on a promotional spree for his upcoming series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, opened up about his relationship with the diva and shared why they chose to make their relationship public when most of the celebrity couples in the industry try to keep their relationship away from media glares.

During a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube talk show, Unplugged, Vijay revealed that he and Tamannaah had the clarity that they liked each other. Both of them wanted to spend more time together without making a lot of effort to hide their relationship. Sharing that he never wanted to be caged, Vijay said:
"I think we were both aligned on the fact that if we like to spend time together and if we like each other, then there is no need to hide this. It takes a lot of effort to hide a relationship. You cannot go out together, your friends cannot click your photos. I don’t like such restrictions. It wasn’t like I wanted to be out there, but I just didn’t want to be caged. I didn’t want to cage my feelings."
Furthermore, Vijay discussed that making their relationship public does not mean that they have made everything open to the public. There are still many aspects of their relationship that both Vijay and Tamannaah have kept away from the people's prying eyes. Revealing that he doesn't post much pictures with his ladylove, Vijay added:
"I have over 5000 photos of both of us, but that’s nowhere on social media because that’s for the both of us."
Meanwhile, the host asked if it bothers Vijay that his relationship with Tamannaah sometimes overshadows his professional front. The actor joked that society sometimes behaves like 'bua', where the only thing that they want to know about is his personal life, and nothing can be done about it. Sharing how he gets appreciation for his work, Vijay said:

"Today, in our society, everybody is interested in other people’s lives. Sabke andar ek bua baithi hai who only wants to discuss this (relationships). This has become a disease, and you can’t do anything about it. I can’t change that. As far as my work is concerned, I do receive appreciation for my work after they released. I cannot deny that."
