Vijay Sethupathi's recently released Telugu film, Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in lead roles, hit the silver screen. It is directed by Pandiraj, and it revolves around the family drama, which explores the chaos of mismatched marriages and emotional disconnects that follow it. While people are praising the storyline, not many know that Vijay Sethupathi met his real-life wife first time on the day of their engagement.
Vijay Sethupathi started his journey with odd jobs before getting his big break. He took many odd jobs of a salesman to a cashier at a food joint and more. After his graduation, Vijay moved to Dubai, where he worked as an accountant. At that time, he met the love of his life, Jessy, on social media. During that time, she was in Dubai, while she was raised in Chennai. In an old interview, Vijay revealed that they became friends even before meeting each other. And in texts and emojis, they got closer and found a connection. He said:
"We became friends even before we saw each other. Jessy too was in Dubai when I was working there. It was through online chatting we became close."
Vijay added that he had never met Jessy but kept chatting on the social media website. He added that within a week, he told her that he would not say I love you, but would straight away get married to her. So, he went to Chennai and got married to her.
It is worth mentioning that after finding comfort in each other, it was difficult for them to convince the families, as they were not in favour of their union. Reportedly, they were not happy with the duo's relationship, but gave up in front of their love. However, not many know that Vijay first time saw Jessy in person on their engagement day. They got married in 2003. The couple is blessed with two children.
