Former Spice Girls member, Victoria Beckham, who went on to become a global fashion designer and businesswoman, recently premiered her much-awaited Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham, in London. The event was attended by her husband, David and her three children, but what caught everybody's attention was Victoria's heartfelt speech, in which she mentioned her eldest son, Brooklyn, despite the ongoing whispers of a family rift since 2022.
On October 8, 2025, Victoria, along with her husband, David and their three children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper attended the world premiere of Netflix docuseries, Victoria Beckham, at The Curzon Mayfair in London. While addressing the audience, Victoria Beckham made sure to mention her eldest son, Brooklyn along with the remaining three. In her speech, she also thanked her husband, David Beckham for supporting her. She had said:
"My children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper - and David - oh my God, he’s not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well! You know, it's taken me this process to really be proud of what I've achieved and to realize finally that I am enough. (Thank you David Beckham) for convincing me and then forcing me, giving me no choice. Working on this has been a very emotional experience."
Victoria's speech during the premiere made headlines as since a while, multiple reports have suggested that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola have been keeping a distance from family events. Reportedly, the rift began in 2022, when the duo got married and they missed big family gatherings that other Beckhams went to, and that absence fuelled stories of a rift. As reported by PEOPLE, Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend David Beckham’s big 50th-birthday party in London, even though they were invited. During that time, a source close to the family had told PEOPLE:
"There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family. The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life."
