Vikram's action film, Veera Dheera Sooran makes a decent start at the box office

Chiyaan Vikram enjoys a massive fan following among the Tamil audience who had been waiting to see him on the big screen. Since the announcement of Veera Dheera Sooran in 2023, fans have been waiting for its release and that reflected in its first-day collection figures. The movie has collected Rs. Rs 3.25 crore at the Indian box office across all languages, making a decent start. Moreover, there was an increase in occupancy at evening and night shows, hinting that the collections could increase over the weekend.

Veera Dheera Sooran witnessed the highest night show occupancy in Chennai 

The official estimate figures from the Sacnilk website have revealed that Veera Dheera Sooran has received 22.91 percent Tamil occupancy in the cinema houses. The night shows are a success for the film, with a 40.54 percent turnout. Among other regions, Chennai witnessed 31.5 percent occupancy, with night shows receiving a massive 51 percent turnout. It was followed by Madurai with 27.75 percent and Coimbatore with 19.50 percent for its Tamil version.

Veera Dheera Sooran's collection figures took a hit due to a lawsuit against it 

Veera Dheera Sooran's collection was affected as the film's morning shows have been cancelled in many theatres in India and abroad. As per Newsbytes, the Delhi High Court ruled that the film couldn't be screened at 10:30 am in some theatres while other Multiplex, Cinepolis, and PVR didn't screen it until 11 am. It happened due to a lawsuit alleging its producer, Riya Shibu, didn't follow the B4U contracts that asserted OTT rights would be sold before theatrical release. Also, Ivy Entertainment alleged that they violated the terms of literary and music rights, and a fine of 7 crore was levied.

S. U. Arun Kumar's Veera Dheera Sooran stars Vikram, S. J. Suryah, Suraj, Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and Prudhvi Raj in pivotal roles. The film is titled Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, and its prequel has yet to go into production. It's based on the story of a man named Kaali, a provision store owner from Madurai who gets embroiled in a crime network and sets out on a mysterious mission.
