Veena Reveals Her First Fee Was Rs. 25 At The Ambanis, Recalls Doing 6-Yr-Old Isha-Shloka's Mehendi

Veena Nagda, the famous mehendi artist, has been winning hearts for her talented mehendi art for celebrity brides. Apart from that, she has also worked in several Bollywood movies. Veena decked up the pretty Bollywood queens, such as Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Twinkle Khanna, and Kriti Kharbanda's hands, on their special day. And there's no denying the fact that she left us in awe with her skills. Apart from the celebs, Veena has a deep connection with the Ambanis, and she recently talked about it.

Veena Nagda talks about her bond with the Ambanis

In a recent interview with Bollywood Now, Veena Nagda discussed her journey in detail, including her love for mehendi. She shared how Karan Johar imposed the idea of having a card on her so that she could grow her business and revealed that the filmmaker had tagged her as the 'Mehendi Queen of Bollywood'. 

Veena Nagda recalls starting her journey at the Ambani house by charging Rs. 25

Veena Nagda also talked about her relationship with the Ambanis, which dates back to 38 years. She shared that at the beginning she used to charge Rs. 25 for two hands full of henna and it was her first payment from the Ambanis. Veena added that Kokilaben Ambani had advised her to have a telephone and card, and that's when she decided to do the same. The mehendi artist praised the Ambanis and revealed that from Kokilaben Ambani to Nita Ambani, their relationship is now 38 years old.

In the same interview, Veena Nagda revealed that when she first got the opportunity to go to the Ambani's house, her neighbours had suggested that she should charge a lot, which she never did. Veena added that her mom's advice was something that she would always remember. She mentioned that her mom asked her to take the same charges that she gets from the regular customer while considering it to be a great opportunity for Veena to work with the Ambanis.

Going further in the interview, Veena Nagda shared that when Isha was only six years old since then she chose Veena Nagda as her mehendi artist. She added that she attended a function held by Dhirubhai Ambani, and decked his daughters' hands with mehendi as well. Veena added that Shloka was also six years old when she had done her mehendi with the artist. She mentioned that they all were in Singapore for studies, and whenever they returned home, they would all have mehendi parties.

Veena Nagda praises Nita Ambani

In the same interview, Veena Nagda revealed she was overwhelmed when she was asked to go to the Paris Olympics 2024 and was thrilled by Nita Ambani's work to bring the Indian culture out there. She talked about the mehendi stall in the Indian house of the Paris Olympics 2024 and added how several people from all over the world came to get mehendi, and the design of the Olympic ring had become so popular. She added that Nita Ambani suggested that they should bring Indian culture to the design and add lotus, peacocks, and other art to the designs as well.

Talking more about Nita Ambani, Veena added that the businesswoman was in awe of her perfection, and during Isha Ambani's wedding, seeing the same, she praised her in front of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and called her professional.
